Yes its OK. also it takes some of the pressure off the girl.
Some times girls really like you but don't want to give out their number to a guy they just met, but will take yours. If they like you they will call you be for the weeks out. Good luck.

Personally, I prefer giving my number. A lot of times women will give you a fake number if they're not really interested in you and most women are not really comfortable in giving their number without knowing you. I give my number to them, and if they are interested they will call. If not, I haven't lost anything and know they do not want to take it any further. I think its best to give your number out. This gives them more control and I think is more comfortable for them.

It is OKAY to do it, as in it is socially acceptable, but it is incredibly unlikely that she will call you. You need to get HER number so that you are in control of calling or not.
Try this line "I don't give my number to girls (laugh)"

if i ever have taken a guys number, its b/c i didn't want them to have mine and i never ended up calling them.
its just a way to not be mean and not have some random loser call you.
