My theory is that Eden was earth--paradise before sin. The Tree of Good/Bad (life--Giver) was God. Who else would know everything, but God. The life(fruit) was humanity. When Eve took the fruit from the tree, I think it means that she "seperated" man from God by being their own masters. I believe the prophets wrote and spoke in Metaphor for things of the past and future they didn't see in their life. The apostles witnessed christ--not a metaphor [Jesus said he was the vine (tree) and we are the branches (fruit)] What do you think???

The Scriptures do not support such an idea.

There are Christians out there who are trying to change it into a metaphor, yes.

But what it actually is, is an ancient book of fables, that has long since been proven to be nonsense. It was believed, at the time it was written, that it was a factual document explaining all the mysteries of the universe.

Since it's been disproven by science, modern Christians are attempting to "spin" it, and say it's meaning is something else. This is what is called "grabbing at straws". Their lives would make so much more sense to them if they would simply accept the facts, rather than try to misrepresent...

Well you know what a parable is don't you? A metophor. Jesus used them alot. There all kinds of types and shadows in the bible. there is also alot of text meant to be taken literally...such as Christ dying for once and for all for the forgiveness of sins.

I have ceased to really care, as far as Im concerned, its not about the details, its about my relationships with both God, and people. You know what they say- "Dont sweat the petty stuff and dont pet the sweatty stuff!" Love in Christ!
