There has been an increasing trend of "end of times" in our culture through books, television, movies, etc.. Is this a positive force towards individuals finding spirituality or is this corrosive to moving forward with things?

This isn't the first "End of Times" panic! The ignorant masses are swept into a fervour by their spiritual leaders. I believe this is a corrosive factor in humanity. Whether it is religious rapture or Y2K, far too many people are just plain gullible. What I see isn't really the end of times but a renewal of the dark ages. Those in the dark remain in the dark and teach their kids there is no light. The emergence of highly respected American Evangelist Zealots is very very disturbing and is leading to a new flat earth that the universe revolves around.

I think in some ways it is very corrosive to both progress and the human mind. Regardless of what your faith is, if you always focus on the negative stuff like the end times, I think it will turn you in to a bitter man or woman. The end of the world can be a really exciting topic of discussion but as a christian, I don't seem to get anything spiritual out of it. I don't feel that Jesus wants us to be afraid and waste our lives away worrying about things we have no control over.

Good question!

the end times revelations is like jesus and peter on the water,if you fear the figurative illusion or u kno ur guilty then ur gonna sink by that fear and create what you fear, but if you have faith then you will stand tall so to speak,u will look beyond the tempest and see things calmly the end result of the kingdom and its hero is the main thing and nothing should deture u from that victory goal ,note not one revealation says at this time at this hour or what the names are ,they are designed as figuratives to fit to so many likenesses that nobody can say this is it or that was it or this is comen next so relax its just with educating this properly ,love and wisdom are the key to the L.A.W,OH MOVIES ARE COOL FOR CHALLEGING THE MIND , WHAT WOULD YOU DO TYPE THING as long as its not like over pushing it to cause mass hystareiah and fear to worship a certain thing or person other than the law which is ur savour ,the law was made un fallable, and i dont mean the rules that alot of people think are laws
oh do u fear ur parents ?well ,i think the proper translation was to respect god cuz he she it whatever is the law ?do you fear what you love ? no you follow who or what u love

It's a good thing, because we are at a point in history like none other. The decisions we make on a global scale have the ability to be catastrophic. We have the ability to eradicate existence as we know it, so we need to be aware that the end times could be very near. Life is a race between education and catastrophy, and I'd say from watching CNN or any other news media source that catastrophe is in the lead.

There are always positive and negative effects on everything. However I do not believe in the end of times teaching because that same old stuff has been preached since the beginning of Christianity or other religion. Usually when many bad things happen in the world, this kind of movement gain followers.

People have been predicting the end of the world for thousands of years and they've all been wrong. The only time the world will end is when the sun enters its red giant stage and envelops the inner planets several billion years from now.

As for the culture, it is not a good thing when people use the excuse of the "end of times" to basically ignore the problems we face today.

A little research will show you that for the last umpteen thousand years we've had continuous rashes of "end of times" fever. As the prophets of ABC/CBS & FOX will tell you, "The gullible you shall always have with you." Corrosive is too strong a word - silly would be more precise.

Only God knows when the World is going to End, we all can be long and gone before the World ends, so Just continue to pray and don't let what you see on tv and movies and music affect you.

God Bless You

People have thought they were living in the end of times since the beginning of times. There is nothing new under the sun.

It does not make a difference. People either believe in the One God or they don't. This is nothing. There have been people who have seen miracles by prophets Moses and Jesus but still denied them. Others exaggerated the truth and made him the son of God like Suez son of Apollo, aka (Saul/St. Paul).
