It was a very enjoyable book and the movie was quite good too.
As for Jesus being married/a father, I think that what limited evidence we have suggests that it is entirely plausible, and wouldn't surprise me in the least.

This book is total fiction. We just had a study at church over the things Dan Brown claims and ALL of it can be refuted by historic data. Regardless of what Dan Brown is trying to say. Jesus was never married to Mary Magdalene nor did he father a child. The ONLY reason that Jesus came to earth was to die on the cross so we could have forgiveness of sin. By giving His life he took on all the sin that had ever - or would ever - be committed and therefore saving us from the wages of sin, which is death. Because of that one act we all have the opportunity to repent and live forever. "Davinci Code" is a really good book, but it is pure fiction. When the book first came out Dan Brown gave interviews saying that the book was only fiction and none of it was true. Once the movie came along, all of a sudden it's "based on historical facts". It's all about money.

I enjoyed the book very much. I think it brought up some rather interesting issues, mostly centered around the "divine feminine".
None of it is new to me though, being myself a part of one of these "secret societies" who are in touch with the Goddess.
I don't know for sure who Jesus really was, or if, for that matter, he really existed. I do know that if he did exist, he'd have had the desire to take a wife and have children (not to mention that if he hadn't, he'd have been looked down on by his people at his time)

The basic premise makes a lot of sense. An Israelite's first commandment was to be fruitful and multiply, therefore they married in their early teens. Men were not recognized as adults until they were married. Therefore, Jesus would not have been considered an adult, and would have had no followers whatsoever.
I understand that Muslims believe the same thing about marriage. Hmmmm

It's possible that he had a wife and maybe a child, but there is no proof, so who knows? In terms of The Da Vinci Code, it's fun to think about though.

It was very possible that it happened since it was pretty much against Jewish decorum for a man to be unmarried.
