What is the definition of the Spanish word asqueles?

I heard this word from someone in the north of Mexico, I believe it's an insect, but which one??

(And the spelling is correct! Asqueles)

'asqueles' are little, black ants...

I think that the term comes from the nahuatl (ancient mexican dialect) term "azcatl" = ant

I am sorry to inform you, but that word does not exist in the Spanish language. I live in Mexico and am 100% fluent, I have never heard of the word before and unless it is a tem used in another Country such as Columbia or Bolivia or Argentina, I don't know what to tell you. Where did you ever hear of such a word?

Hi, I m from Torreon, Coahuila (north of Mexico) and yes we use asqueles and its an insect. I believe in other parts of Mexico they call them "hormiguitas" it s the little black-greyish little ants. If you ever go to Torreon people will know exactly what you are talking about. I hope it s still helps after 9 years..

Thas whats up! En Mexico las palabras varian de estado a estado, yo soy de Lerdo Dgo y tambien cosco la palabra asqueles, si son las hormiguitas pequenas.
por cierto mi amiga es de Guadalajara y les llama asquilines.
talvez si deribe de algun dialecto pero pues de ahi venimos ese.

I think you mean aqueles and it isn't Spanish..it is Portuguese..and it is misspelled as you have it...

"aquelas" coisas can refer to something youu can't remember the name of and are off in the distance from yourself and the person you are talking to...or a term that has already been introduced in the conversation...reasons for poverty in Brasil...Aquelas coisas sao a razao da nossa miseria... "Those things are the reason for our misery." as an example..

I believe that it means wasp; a dialect of the Zacatecas, perhaps, of central Mexico???
