Taking vitamins with zeaxanthin and lutein.
Zeaxanthin is a vitamin that may help prevent macular degeneration.
Lutein is a carotenoid pigment found in many green vegetables, and is usually derived from marigold flower petals. Researchers have found that adults who consume 6 mg of lutein daily show a significant decrease in their risk of developing macular degeneration of the eyes. Even normal-sighted people who take lutein supplements report reduced glare and sharper vision. This can be helpful for anyone exposed to brilliant sunlight or computer screens on a daily basis. Lutein does not have the Vitamin A activity of beta carotene, and competes with it for absorption and transportation. Therefore, it is wise to take these two nutrients each day at different meals. All carotenoids require a small amount of dietary fat for absorption.

Okay, this is going to sound bizarre but it happened to me. I am extremely myopic (near or short sighted) like 90% blind. I broke my glasses and for some reason (don't remember why) couldn't get another pair for like 6 -9 months. Two things I did without really even thinking about it were: 1.)force myself to focus on the television screen without being five inches away and from about 10-15 feet on the couch; 2.)started eating raw carrots every day. Every once in a while I go on a fave raw vegetable kick. In any case, when I finally DID get to an optometrist, he gave me the whole eye exam and looked at my old one and said, "Somehow, you've improved your eyesight! Your old prescription is too strong for you!" This worked for me, but then weird things like this always work for me. I have no idea if this would work for you, but I don't think it can hurt. In any case, I'd call (anonymously) an eye doc and ask them what to do.

The carrots was a British propaganda exercise during WW2 and is not based on fact. There is an exercise for the eyes. Sit in a chair and look quickly from one item in the room to another at different distances. This will exercise the eye muscles........

I created a website and a blog so that people can follow my progress. Check it out...
