i used to put discs in both drives but now i have to burn to the pc and then to disc. auto run dosen't work either.

go to START / MY COMPUTER right click on it, this opens system propertes go to hardware / device manager and see what dvd/cd-rom drives you have, example samsung sp12345 or ide-dvd drom6216 use the info to find the newest drivers from the net. the look for new drivers thing never works that is in system manager so do not bother.

You need to reinstall your drivers. Go to the manufacture's website and download the driver for the DVD and reinstall or use the driver disc that came with the unit.

Your dvd player may not be compatible with xp. you'll have to check your dvd players owners manual to see if it is..

you may have had install problems, I would re-format and install again.
