HDMI or DVI will be the best connection. If it doesnt have digital video output (most don't) use analog component. Keep the DVD player in Interlace mode not progressive with either connection. Your TV probably has a better deintelacer in it than your DVD player. Avoid upscaling with the DVD player too unless it uses higher end scaling like faroudja.

purchase an AV cable and hook it up. im not no professional but im sure thats what you would need.
