Jesus was a carpenter in the days when they had no power tools. He would have had some helluva muscles from hammering, sawing, lifting and fetching. Only if they chose to fight, u r right. Anyway neither started a religion, they showed a way of life by living it and the so called followers - who do not practice what the two practiced are basically gaining and getting to play the control game. Love and compassion is the truth and religion is a medium to reach that within u and share it with fellow travellers of journey called life. Because in reality there only exists U and once u realise that, then u can not be an ememy of U itself.
