You DON'T! Your puppy is having diarrhea for a reason - a virus like Parvo or intestinal worms or bad food or a sudden change of diet. You have to find out and fix the CAUSE not just treat the symptom. See a vet right away, especially if there is blood in the diarrhea.

I've used Immodium with my dogs as well. But with your puppy being a puppy you need to ask your vet first. A baby's system may not handle it like a grown dog. Also, you may want to consider worming your dog as well. Sometimes a parasite infection can cause diarrhea as well. If it's not treated your puppy will become sicker and sicker.

Give the same dose as for a child that size. If the doiarrhea is bloody, or if it continues you should take it to the vet. Are you feeding the same food as the breeder was feeding, or has there been a change in diet? Also you can give some canned pumpkin to help regulate it. A couple of tablespoons of canned pumpkin should do the trick.

Why does your puppy have diarrhea? Does it have worms? Does it have parvo? Immediately take your puppy to a vet. This symptom can kill your puppy. It can dehydrate your puppy. Immodium shouldn't be given to a puppy. It needs medical attention.

Sometimes, Loperamide (Immodium), is used for diarrhea in dogs, but you should never give medication like that to your dog without consulting a vet first. Most vets that I've worked for like yogurt for stress-related stomach problems with dogs. (It helps people too)

Never ever give a dog/cat/puppy/kitten human meds without a vet recommending the med and dosage. Human meds can and do kill pets. Contact a vet on what to do for your pups problem. An 8 lb pup will dehydrate very fast.

This pup is too young to treat with otc drugs. You need to go to a vet and find out the cause of the diarrhea first.

not worried about killing puppy but worried about diarrhea? Keep the puppy on a stable diet, don't give it table scrapes, diarrhea will leave.

Ask your vet if you can even do that. I used to give my dog cooked chopped hamburger mixed with rice. Thats what most vets recommend.
