I think the best, complete answer would be to just flat out buy Mexico. Think about it...The workforce would multiply exponentially...our land mass would double...not to mention the resources....we would have a border of a few miles to defend. They're all coming here anyway...let's all have a chance as Americans to purchase super cheap land...setup low cost businesses...etc..etc.

I know the concept of "purchasing" Mexico...is a rather simplistic one..but The United States of North America would become the world's largest superpower without question...Our technology and economy...their workforce and land combined would make us unbeatable for decades to come...Everybody wins...they get the lifestyle they're desperate for, we get the land, security and population growth problem under control...it's win win...now if we could just talk to Canada...cause we all know those sneaky Canadians are eyeing Seattle..

I don't think America should keep making a border against the Mexican border because everyone has the right to be here in America and also the government is spending money on the border while they could atleast do something good for America instead of paying attention to people who cross the border.

There are a lot of work to do by both of our countries, and the trueth is that the gobern of both countries - not only the presidents, but the legislator as well, and to tell the true all of us the citizen - have just let this grow so much that it's becoming more complicated everyday.
I don't believe in walls, since the history have showed us that they are not efective, unless you work on the bottom of the problem.
As i see this, there are lots of work to do by both countries.

There is the need to make the immigration ordered, to affront the reality of both nations, and to understand the need of the labor in the USA, is there is the offer of job, and we have the demand of those jobs. So, there should be a legal way to do it, so you in the USA can now who is working in your land, and we in Mexico could know how many of our people is out of our land, the same way the legals do. The problem now is that there are not enougth of those permisses to work in your country to make it legally.
In the USA, the companies owners are aware of the need of the labor, that's why many of them are in favor of the legalization of a range of immigrants, besides of the fact that you will be having a llot of your population retiring in some years, and we would have the young hands to work in your economy to keep it working and growing.
We, in Mexico, need to make a great effort to make our lands - in the sectors of farming and cattle, improve our productivity, and make it work in a competitive way.
Most of the people who leaves Mexico comes used to be farmers, and now our lands are abandoned. The USA have to give a look at the deals, in the NAFTA about the agricultural products, because the USA still gives subside the farmers, making it an unfair competition, since we cannot give subsides.
In Mexico, we need to make grow our economy, so we can create the works we need, for that we need to impulse the creation of companies, as well, as atrack the foreing invest.
We need to improve our productivity, to compite in a more agresive way with all the other nations in the world, as better as we in Mexico are, as less problems you will have.
Our border is the wider border between two nations in the world, our nature of neighbors, should make us work togheter helping each other.

We could be sorry bastards like Presidente Fox and use military power to close off our borders like he closes off the borders into Mexico from South America. But, we won't. To me, building a fence, wall, whatever is useless since people can still climb walls or dig under them. I really have no suggestion on ways to keep illegals out. Apparently, neither does the government. Better start learning Spanish buddy.

That's not necessary. If the government imposed heavy fines and jail terms on employers who hire illegal immigrants, their jobs would dissapear virtually over night, and they would have no choice but to return to their countries of origin. This hasn't happened because our government (Democrats and Republicans alike) represent the interests of the business elite, not the interests of the people. Big business is making record profits by using illegal labor. Talk about building a fence, and sending troops to the border are just games that politicians like to play to confuse and deceive the American people about who is really to blame for this invasion of illegals-- employers and their as* kissing, corrupt politician buddies.

We can't because Fox and Bush are making deals behind closed doors, like they did in o4 Fox wants unlimited immigration for Mexicans, and it seems Bush is going along with him, that's why he doesn't want to send any back, he wants that stupid worker program, that's amnesty's because they never leave, they just stay and work and fill out a few papers. While the other immigrants in other countries wait and wait.

No, then I couldn't go to my favorite vacation hideaway every year. We just need to stop illigal folks from crossing it. It has become a big problem because politicians keep sweeping it under the rug. And now it has become a focal point only because regular Americans are getting tired of it. As they should. We should use the immigration laws that Mexico has that would teach them.

Pananmbi has the right idea. Stronger enforcement and increased vigilance will solve the problem. People should be able to travel for vacations. I have no love for the guest worker program, seeing how badly it was abused. National Guard troops are already causing a significant lessening of illegal immigration.

You mean should we close the border? No, I don't think so. There should be a better way. I know immigration is a big deal right now, but they just need to figure out a way to handle this peacefully.

I think we should allow Mexicans to become citizens, but if we have to build a big wall and "close" the border to keep out the illegals - SO BE IT!
