Bible has proved itself to be the best book on earth. It produced western civilization which is far above all others in the world. Many, many Bible prophecies have been fulfilled to the letter.

In the Beginning God created heavens and earth.
God gives you air to breathe and sunshine to enjoy.
God gives you water to drink and food to eat.
God gives you a wonderful body and sound mind, to live.
God loves you, and you are precious to Him.
Son of God died on the Cross to save us from condemnation.
Jesus’ love is boundless and everlasting.
We have the hope of Heaven through Jesus.
Life therefore has fantastic and glorious future!

Just because some people may have a boring life does not automatically mean that the Bible is literally and completely true. Similarly just because no human understands every complexity of the universe does not mean that the supernatural events described in the Bible are true.

Many misguided individuals like you seem to use the fact that humans do not know 100% of everything as some kind of proof that the unknown areas of knowledge can only be explained by God.

Cavemen used to think that earthquakes were caused by an angry god. Even the Bible talks about God shaking the foundations of the Earth. This was in the days before we understood concepts of how earthquakes happen and why. Their explanations were just a story used to explain that which they could not explain. It did not make their mythical descriptions any more true.

Some people who don't know all the answers accept that they will never know everything. Some people seek out answers in science. Some people turn to a religious text and assume that in the absence of true science they can understand, they will use this religious text to fill in the blanks.

Because some of us perhaps have a little more faith in mankind. We don't need a book written by authors 70 years after the fact, sometimes authors using a disciple's name, then voted into inclusion in a collection known as the
Bible to be our guide on how and why to be good people.
I beleive there is little faith in your fellow man when the only binding contract for them to be good is the threat of an eternally damned soul.
I certainly support the principles in the Bible, but I definitely do not think that the King James version you find everywhere is the exact literal text handed down from God. It was authored by men, and transcribed an innumerable amount of times through many languages and dialects of the day. If you disagree, try writing all of this message in Greek and handwriting it fifty times without a single loss of any of the meaning. Languages don't translate straight across and scribes make mistakes.

well, its easy because some of the stories don't fall into what i consider reality. like noah repopulating the world by what he took with him on an ark, or the parting of the red sea, or someone walking on water. these things require faith to believe. the same way that unicorns and magic lamps do. which is why some liken them to fairy tales. also, they're the stories and traditions of a certain people, the jews, and more recently, the christians. just like the story of king popiel being eaten by mice is a traditional story for polish people. and the latter is commonly thought to be a fairy tale.

so you see, there are certain similarities that cause people to think this way.

and its not a truth like gravity is a truth. so don't say that.

i don't wonder why i exist, i just do, i'd rather live my life than waste it worrying about things that i can't change or that really have little or no impact on my life.

Of course people wonder that, and people want to know the truth. The problem is that those people don't believe that the Bible is the truth, any more than it could have been Ra or Vishnu or any Roman or Greek or Native American gods or even the Big Bang. The 2 concepts presented in your question do not correlate for some of us, that is all.

I don't know how people can live there life and not believe in God.
He is the Creator of Heaven and Earth, our Savior, our Comforter,
and so much more. Sure, some might enjoy there life now and say they do not need God. But what will happen when they die? Then they will know that he is true. I hope those that do not believe will soon find out the truth.
Isaiah 45:
[22] Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth: for I am God, and there is none else.
[23] I have sworn by myself, the word is gone out of my mouth in righteousness, and shall not return, That unto me every knee shall bow, every tongue shall swear.

Romans 1:20
For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:

Because it was written by men, just like fairy tales were.
If you study politics and anthropology, you can see the threads of history running throughout the Bible. You can't blame us for doubting somehow that God wrote eactly like a 1,000 BC patriarch or that the supreme being is so bound up in the prejudices of the past.
Is there a God? It's very likely. But there's no way the Bible accurately expresses him.

well for me the bible says god made animals on day 5 and then on day 6 as a seperate event he made a human being,

and theres all this evidence that has been presented to me that makes me think that something happened called evolution, that happened over millions of years, so the creation story for me is a fairy tale

just in taking my son to the zoo and seeing the different species of zebra, and looking as a child as i did at the fossil record of horse evolution, and seeing these zebras that are different species that have had a common ancestor,

then i go and look at the chimpanzee and the gorilla and the orangotang, and myself in the mirror,

then i see other monkeys,

and i reason to myself that 16 million years ago its likely a species of monkeys became these other monkeys, and then that monkey was more an ape, and that ape some of its children became chimpanzees, others became orangotangs ancestors, and this orangotang ancestor had some children in one part of the world that became something called australopithicus, and then that became homo habilis, and then that became homo sapiens

the people who interpret the bible say god made this earth 6000 years ago, but there is evidence that a group of homo sapiens made glue 7000 years ago, a group called the sumerians,

so, that for me is why that story in the bible is a fairy tale

Whose truth?

The most important truth to me is mine. What is true for me.

I do not consider the Bible to be a literal document. The Bible can be interpreted 100 different ways with people finding quotes to suppor their point of view.

The Bible is not the answer for everyone. many people have their own beliefs and ideas that have nothing to do with the bible.

I believe that biologically, first and foremost I exist to assure the continuation of the human race

after that I believe I exist to make a difference in other people's lives and to have a loving relationship with myself and take very good care of my needs and know and understand myself very well, to live my life according to what is true for ME, not what is true for someone else and not what other people expect of me.

This can be a life long process.
