I used to live in Nagano prefecture in Japan.
For a foreigner in Japan to borrow money from a Japanese bank to buy real estate or land, you need to be a permanent resident.
To become a permanent resident, you have to have lived in Japan for at least 10 years if you're single, or at least 3 years if you're married to a Japanese person.
Houses and land are awfully expensive in Japan, and Japan has half as many people as the USA even though it only has about 1/20 the land area.
This means that Japan is very densely populated -- not a lot of space.
An exception to that rule is Hokkaido, the northernmost main island. I went there a couple times and most of it was pretty wide open. I also heard the cost of living is cheaper there. So that might be a good place, if you can stand the winter!

You really need to do a lot of research. This is the wrong place. You can't just move to Japan. If you don't have a bachelors degree it's impossible unless you marry a Japanese citizen. As for the other stuff, please go online and do some research. They are helpful for tourists. They like foreign people. If you go on just your passport you can stay for only three months.

The simple answer is you wont be able to afford it, land and property in Japan is one of the highest in the world, and land is so expensive that many home-grown Japapese cant even afford them with well paid jobs, this is one reason why Japanese has one of the lowest marriage rate as cost of living is so high.

If you're living in a foreign country, you're an "expat" (short for ex-patriate.)
Find and participate in a Japanese expat forum. Here's one but there's more out there on the internet.
