Yesterday I posted a question out of anger, asking why Mexican immigrants are the only immigrants noticed by people in the US. Now I asked that question, because I was angry by some of the comments people were making regarding immigration. Now let me ask you this: Why are people rascist against Mexicans in general? People always presume that just because a persons Mexican that they are immigrants. Let me tell you, my family has been in California and Texas since they were a part of Mexico. All of my cousins and brothers and sister have graduated college, and now have successful careers. They all own their homes, and live a great life. America is the land of opportunity, there should be no reason that people judge Mexicans so cruely. Just because some Mexicans are bad, doesn't mean we all are. There needs to be a change. This is ridiculous. We all bleed the same color!

Racist people have been around for years. It's the ignorance of some who set the examples for others. I agree with you that they are the race that seems to be exploited. What about all the terrorists? No one thought anything about them when they entered the country, and look at all the damage they've done! As far as i'm concerned, the immigrants come here to provide for their families, and to do jobs that americans would'nt do. And they get paid very little, for all the long hours they work. Personally I think this new wall the gov't is building along the border is a crock. If the gov't would come up with a fair agreement and logical laws to let the mexicans come to the u.s. then there wouldn't be so many people sneaking into the country. I know from experience about the immigration, and I don't think it's fair. These people try to come here legally, work many years to save money, only to receive nothing from the INS.
A friend of mine was here illegally, is married to a woman from the states, has a 3yr old little girl who is sick. He went back to Mexico to do things the right way, so that he could be here legally. Only to be told that he can not re-enter the U.S. for 10 years. Now I ask where's the fairness in that? His daughter will grow up not knowing who he is!!! There is bad people in all races! And for someone else to judge others is not right either, til' you've walked a mile in the other person's shoes. I hear so many people say, they're afraid of them coming and takeing away the jobs from the americans. Well if americans would fill those jobs, you'd have no worries!!! They're not coming here to steal jobs from anyone. They;'re here only to support they're families, and to make a life for themselves. They work jobs that no one else would work ( low paying, w/out benefits, and long hours). Your right we all bleed the same color.

The reason I think that Mexicans are getting picked on, is because there are so many. There aren't hundreds of thousands of any other immigrants crossing the border daily. Don't assume that all Americans hate Mexicans., that is just not true. We are being overwhelmed with illegals from Mexico. You have to know this is true. We cannot handle any more. Mexico needs to straighten their country out, so that people and be prosperous there and not have to come to a country that no longer welcomes them.

juls, I have been labeled a "racist" because I have taken a stand against border crossing criminal tresspassers living illegally in MY country. I dont make racial distinctions, if you are living in My country taking advantage of My tax funded programs and driving down My wages by undercutting My economic bargaining leverage, while remaining a criminal with no loyalty to My country then I have absolute disgust for you and all like you. I also have no sympathy for the supporters of these criminals.
For your information, the land that is currently the southwestern UNITED STATES was purchased by the AMERICAN government. Then when the Mexican government wanted to reclaim the purchased property it was beaten back by people like those that defended the Alamo. I think that the Mexican government should have retained the receipt, like you do at wal-mart. If you do some research, you will find a deed for the land in question which is held by the AMERICAN Government and signed by Mexican government officials of the day. So, there is absolutely NO question which country has LEGAL possession and rights to the land which you live on, its AMERICA! Your welcome for the history lesson, next time stay awake in history class.

Racist is a word used far too often on the immigration portion of this Q and A. Though I hesitate to use it......I would say your FIRST question was a pretty darn good one. You got a lot of really good answers. That is about all you can hope for around here.

This question is hazy for me.....WHY.....because you ask "why are people racists against Mexicans"

That annoys me......I don't want to answer that nor would I want to answer a question that put African-American in place of Mexicans or Jewish in place of Mexicans. Those kind of questions just make me say "oh no not again.....now your going to get some crazies"

Next you say people all think Mexicans are immigrants. Well....thats OK.....isn't it.........at least they AREN'T assuming they are ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS.

To end.......I agree with you almost 95%...which is a pretty good percentage rate with me. I believe that ALOT of hatred is shrouded in "illegal immigration debates".......and I love that people like you see that as well. Good Job!

Peace

Quick edit:.....Juls love....lay off the report abuse button. This is a Question and Answer forum.....if you don't want to hear the answer......don't ask the question OR LIKEWISE. I get killed daily and want to scream by the minute BUT I have never REPORTED someone for voicing their opinion......as a matter of fact.....I have NEVER reported PERIOD.....though I have a myriad of "violation notices".....go figure!

I believe most Americans are not racist against Mexicans. It's just that Mexicans make up the majority of illegal aliens in this country; which is an added burden on our society as a whole. I'm insulted that we have special laws for Cubans, that don't apply to any other groups of immigrants. The Cubans plight is now worse than others around the world suffering from hunger, riots, government overruns, etc..... One more thing, why are Americans racist against any group of people when they don't respect or ignore our laws.

P.S. Why not march or protest in your own countries to improve the conditions.

Sashie, she reported you too huh? I bet you didn't get one of her very intelligent e-mails, did you? lol These freeloaders will never get it.

Juls, when you make an attempt to debate, you argue pure nonsense (this land really belongs to Mexico) and you name call, which makes you look stupid. Now, if you want to have any modicum of an intellectual conversation, try to keep the conversation at an adult level, ok?

The issue is ILLEGAL. Why don't you get it? Because you don't want to. People have every reason to be offended by arrogant criminal trespassing Mexicans waving their disgusting rag of a flag in AMERICA NOT AMEXICO. This is NOT YOUR COUNTRY.

I am American, I don't have to walk around with 5 other ID's in my purse. If you don't like what I have to say, good. That means I am legal and you or your brown pride family isn't. GO BACK TO YOUR COUNTRY SINCE YOU ARE SO PROUD.

By the way, I will not be reading any e-mails from you, don't waste your time. Also, since you think you are intelligent, it's racism not rascism and for God's sake, get a history book. You need it.

I did not get to your other question, but I will tell you this. Yes, alot of people are off track about this debate. IT IS THE ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS,NOT JUST MEXICANS THAT US CITIZENS SHOULD BE CONCERNED ABOUT. THE ISSUE IS THE ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS!!! YES, THERE IS RACISM AMONGST ALL NATIONALITIES!!! But there is more illegals coming from Mexico. I am not racist, but I am concerned and I have the right to be!!!! I would not pay any attention to some of the dumb a** comments made by some of the people on answers!!! I have had several things said to me and most of the time I just laugh and let it go in one ear and out!!!

Some people are racist against Mexicans because they believe that Mexicans are the poor people, dirty people, etc. I agree with you people shouldn't be racist against Mexicans because they are people and have feeling as well. They are the ones who do the work for Americans that don't feel like doing the dirty work. Mexicans have the right to be here in America just as puertorricans, domincans, colombian, etc do don't just blame it on the mexicans. Sure there are some Mexicans that are bad but there are also Mexicans that are good. Every country has people like that not everyone is perfect. :D

I agree with you,not all mexicans should be judge because of other mexicans being bad, what put mexicans in the spot light was the marches they had cutting down on this country by raising the mexican flag and putting the US flag upside down, there are millions of mothers, wives, sons and dauthers that have lost a love one defending that very flag and these illegal idiots and their kids are showing disrespect.no matter what those stupid idiots do from now on,the citizens of this country will never forget,it is sad that mexican americans that fought side by side with afro americans and anglo americans in current and past wars have to bear the burden on what ignorant illegals and their kids did that day

I can't say no one is racist against Mexicans because I only have to go up several questions from this one to see a question I definitely consider, if not racist, than prejudiced. (Most Mexicans are caucasian. I don't see how anyone except those who are not caucasian can be 'racist' against them.)

However, I am not racist. I like a lot of Mexican Americans and Mexicans (in Mexico) as well. I don't like the impact illegal immigration has on my children's school district, or having to trade my retirement to assure them a decent education OUTSIDE of public schools.

That has nothing to do with race.

I also know Americans with Mexican heritage whose families were here since before California was part of the United States. I think they are just terrific. As it happens, they are also opposed to illegal immigration for the same reasons I am. They aren't being racist either.

We limit poor immigration because we pay for education and health services for the poor. We only have so much room in our education and health services to care for people, and we need to manage how many people those services serve. We don't think people should just decide they have been waiting too long to have us agree to pay for them and come across illegally. That is my basic position.

Juls, in answer to your comment to me, I'm sorry if I misjudged your age. I thought I picked up your age from one of your answers but I might have misunderstood. I don't think Mexicans are the only illegals around. In fact, as I understand it the worst gang trouble comes from El Salvador. Some really nasty diseases apparently are from illegals from Viet Namn. I am not racist against Mexicans, so I may not have addressed that point. It is really kind of irrelevant to me what their nationality is.
