As long as possible, but at least for the weekend before you go back to work...then leave the puppy with one of your worn tee shirts or something for a comforting odor and a windup alarm clock. The ticking calms them, also. Good luck!!

Oh gosh this is kinda a hard one because i can say its best to leave him alone right away but also i can say stay with him always. Doggy's get bad cases of separation anxiety if he gets to used to you being around all the time then when you do have to go he will freak out by either barking and carrying on or destroying furniture or other items. But then on terms of leaving him right away you don't want him to feel abandoned or unloved, after all he is only a puppy. I say when you have to go somewhere go but the minute you get through that door make sure you every second is spent with that puppy showing him how much you love him. Good luck with the puppy! Hope this helps you in any way.

I think you should almost never leave a puppy alone. You should bond with him about one hour a day for about a week. Try potty training him as early as you can so it can become a habit. After about a week that potty training becomes a habit, you can leave your puppy in your house alone. Probably not up to six hours or you can get some responsible kids (I suggest ages 12-15 girls) to drop in and feed him, take him outside, play with him a bit.

no because your puppy is just getting used to the new surrounding and a puppy has to be locked in a room if you have other animals and they could get very nervous and may not want to come near you or be aggressive to you so you should spend alot of time for the next two weeks

it will probably cry all night as it has been use to being with the litter of puppies. You may want to put it in a box in your room and put a stuffed toy and a clock or something that makes a noise such as a ticking sound so he thinks there is someone with him. If you are soft hearted like me you will end up with him in bed with you for a few nights until he gets use to his new home.

never ever do that they will eat up everything in your whole house or it could hurt itself
my puppy was 2 weeks when we left it alone for 20 min. and my shoes were all over the house and my bed set was chewed up and lots more
let someone watch it while you go away or take it with you
you cant leave it in the house alone unless they are at least 6 months old
Good luck, Briana

no, normally puppies are really frightened when you get them because you take them some place they dont know. If you leave a puppy alone, he might think that you abandoned him and if you leave him too long(im talking about months) he may die from moral sadness.

dont leave it alone right after you got it, because its not potty train yet, so it might pee and poo all over the place. it usually takes weeks, let the puppy get use to the place it's staying at.
when i got my puppy, i stay home with him until he was potty train, so i dont have to come home to poo and pee all over the house. then i started leaving him alone for 30 min,i gave him his favorite chew toys to keep him busy. then i started leaving him alone for longer time. and in no time he got use to being alone at home when i have work.
GOOD LUCK!

No, think of what damage the dog could do to your house. It could "go" on the carpet, chew or scracth on the sofa, and the dog could get poisened by a plant or any household item. I suggest getting a crate if he or she is a puppy.

I alway request the families that adopt my babies to take at least a three day weekend when they get them. It really helps...It gives the pup time to learn to trust you, and to know where to eat, drink, pee and poo.
It really helps them, and you. Makes training much easier, when you are there to prevent bad habits from the start.
