how much tv do you watch? 30 minutes a day? 60min a day? Stop watching tv entirely and go running. 45 min to an hour, 5 days a week. You will like what it does for your fitness, and you won't miss tv at all.

Make sure you drink plenty of water. Eat a variety of healthy foods like raw or steamed vegetables, fresh fruit, lean meats and whole grains. One way I get more exercise is when I go to work, I park further away from the building. Or if you take the bus, get off a block or two ahead of your normal stop. You would be surprised at all the tricks there are to get in a few extra minutes of walking a day. Take the stairs where possible instead of an elevator. Works for me.

5 small meals a day...breakfast is very important...don't worry about push-ups sit-ups crunches and such....running and cardio like using the optical are the exercises that burn the most fast! Make sure you're consuming enough good calories!
If you're losing more than 2 pounds a week that's unhealthy and the weight won't stay off, it will come right back....so don't lose too much weight in a week!

Diets don't work in the long term.

Simply cut down on junk food.
