God doesn't destroy things, he creates them. He also gave us free will so that we would have the freedom to choose right from wrong.
Lucifer chose wrong, but he will forever have the free will to seek forgiveness and choose right.
If God destroyed Lucifer, he would take away this opportunity and therefore abolish his free will.

Lucifer was the most beautiful angel there was, he was covered in beautiful jewels and became very conceited. Lucifer began to think he was better than God. God gave Lucifer this world to test us, just like he tested Adam and Eve. God has the chance to destroy Lucifer everyday, but he provides a good filter for people who are worthy of God and people who are not.

The thesis of your question presumes that God is not all powerful and only had a window of opportunity to destroy satan. When one analyzes these problems, one realizes that the concept of Satan as a 'fallen angel' and indedependent force against God is fatally flawed.
The truth is that Satan is not a fallen angel but works at the behest of God to test us. Satan is that which gives us free will. Without Satan, there would be no free will. In reality, Satan is, in a sense, our best friend if we recognize him for what he is. That is, because everytime we resist him and choose life over death, goodness over sin, etc. we grow in our closeness to God our Father and Creator. And that is what life is about.

The real question is: If Lucifer was an angel, and God created angels specifically to sing the praises of God (in other words, no free will), how was Lucifer able to turn against God in the 1st place?

Because above all God loves and finds perfection in all of His creations. He doesn't purposely destroy unless He has to and He hasn't done that in thousands of years. And even then He didn't totally destroy His creation. Lucifer longs to return to Heaven, but as long as he can not reign over it, he wants nothing to do with it. God is all powerful, but He only uses His power when He deems it necessary. He obviously didn't feel it was necessary to destroy Lucifer and the other angels.

Because 1/3 of God's children followed Satan.
Rev 12:3 And there appeared another wonder in heaven; and behold a great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns upon his heads.
Rev 12:4 And his tail drew the third part of the stars of heaven, and did cast them to the earth: and the dragon stood before the woman which was ready to be delivered, for to devour her child as soon as it was born.
That's what this flesh life is all about. To defeat Satan legally and offer salvation to whomsoever.
The second death is non-existence.

Like Yoda Green said; it's all mythology. But for sake of an answer, Lucifer was God's most loved and powerful angel. The message of the Bible is that God is forgiving, so perhaps he wanted punish him, not destroy him.

you cannot have good without evil. without one there can be no mark in which to judge the other. God originally intended for us to be "perfect". meaning not always making the right choice, but rather making the choice he thought was right. In the garden of Eden, Adam and Eve were allowed to do whatver they wished, except eat from the tree of knowledge. Although he wanted all of us perfect, here he gave us a choice. You can choose correctly, or you can go against his wishes. well, you know what happened. There can never be a perfect individual. Even god himself is not perfect and if you believe, truly believe, that we are cast from his image, then you can see that he is not perfect either. We all know god is omnipotent and all powerful yes and that brings us to your question, or more importantly, why did he create us knowing full well we would not be perfect? He's stated in the bible as saying his greatest mistake was creating us. There you can fully see that is he was perfect, how could he make a mistake? And as far as your question goes, I guess it depends on what version of god you believe in. If it was the OT version then he would've destroyed them in a heart beat and made an example of them to show the rest of us. If the NT god is your thing, then he would've simply allowed them to exist and cast them to hell where they could not necessarily harm, but would not harm him. there lies the whole thing about choices. He wanted us to be slaves essentially. We chose not to be and therefore that's the reason for all the evil in this world. He created evil just as he did good and hoped we'd never stray from HIS word and live a boring, perfect life.

because of choice. God doesnt want robots serving him because they have to. if he was like that he would be a tyrant. he would rather that ppl AND angels give him their love voluntarily. granted its a bit easier for angels, because they have never known sin. those that have were struck down. God lets these demons live for a time so that his creation may be given the choice of serving him or denying his very existence, thus making sure he has a loyal few instaed of a half loyal horde, which is what the devil has. all those that have chosen to be part of the half loyal horde will recieve their just punishment, just as those that follow god will have their reward in heaven. contact me at lvl14stairmaster@gmail.com if you have any more questions.
