Here are the 2 viewpoints as I see them...
Advantage - Fewer weapons will eventually lead to fewer deaths by the weapon. Far too many people die every year due to accidental shootings. The rules for who is able to get a firearm are far too easy in most states, but until there is a change in the 2nd Ammendment, citizens will have the right to own them.
Disadvantage - Gun Control laws are often in direct violation of the 2nd Ammendment. Secondly, stericter enforcement of Gun Control laws will only hurt the average citizen. Criminals will be able to get guns because they are criminals and have no problem with breaking the law so it ould be the law-abbiding citizens that are left unable to protect themselves from those criminals that have t he firearms.

Gun control is very important. You want to be able to control the gun, so that you hit your target.
Governmental gun control only will serve to disarm the law abiding people. Laws against guns will not stop criminals from having them. There are already laws against murder, robbery and assault. These do not prevent murders, robberies, and assaults. Why would you think that a law against having a gun would stop a lawbreaker?
DC has strict gun control laws, and a high murder rate. There are guns in the hands of criminals, and they have no problem in getting them.
Studies have proven the higher the percentage of the public is armed, the lower the crime rate. In an area with strict gun laws, the criminal knows he is unlikely to have an armed victim. Where there are many legally armed folks, there is a much higher risk to the criminal!!

The advantage of good gun control is you hit what you aim at. The disadvantage of poor gun control is you miss. Guns aren't the problem. People are the problem. In the hands of a responsible person they are not a problem. In the hands of irresponsible people they are.

Advantage; Gun control affords a sense of safety.
Disadvantage; Fire arms are sold openly.
Neither point eliminates the fact guns in every variety exist therefore, gun control is just an acknowledgment.

Advantages of Gun Control? Ask the people who lived under Joseph Stalin (30 million dead) or Pol Pot (16 million dead), Mao (40 million).
If you want a totalitarian Government then gun control is a great thing to have.

Disadvantage... People kill the people, the guns don't. It doesn't matter how much you try to control the guns they will always end up in the hands of the wrong people if they want them. Gun control is just another scape goat for bad parenting in my opinion.

It´s quite easy. Guns were made to kill. No guns, no kill. If necessary, only State and State organizations must control guns. That´s because we as a society delegate use of force in a bigger entity which is called State. Guns in hand of ordinary people always result in accidents and/or violent emotion murders.

theres no disadvantage to it,the advantage to it is, knowing whos buying guns, if they are buying them to comment crimes, which most of the times they are. they will be easlier to trace.we had a good friend , that had their daughter, shot in the head, while sleeping in her bed with her husband and seven month old baby, with a gun, that some cold hearted bastards went out of state and bought at a flea market. if they had went thur the proper steps to buy this gun, the people who hired this person to shoot this person , they could have traced the gun to the people who , should have went to prison, for this crime. instead of the guy who did it for some dope money.

Disadvantages: Only the government and the bad guys have guns. Wild animal attacks making the necessity to fight a stronger animal off with your bare hands. Limitation of personal liberty. If the bad guys break in you might have to wait 15-plus minutes for the police to respond, when it takes thirty seconds to bleed out. If there's a war you have to train everyone to shoot. It's harder for those of us who hunt for food to be able to hunt for food with a knife. There might not be any Olympic shooters from England next time because of their ban and it's cost preventative for the shooters to train outside their home country.
Advantage: We are subservient to the government, wait I don't want that do you?

Advantage - none. Disarming law-abiding citizens leaves them helpless before the criminals, who disobey gun laws for some odd reason. England and Australia have see enormous increases in crime rates - robberies, murders - since they took away the subjects abilities to protect themselves.
Disadvantage - everything. More children drown in pools or are killed in cars than are accidentally killed by guns.
If guns kill, then does my pencil misspell?
