If our path is already laid out for us then how does free will work? I really dont have much free choice if God already has a plan for me.

My thought on this one: Free will and an all-knowing God are not conflicting ideas. God doesn't CONTROL your actions, he simply KNOWS what choices you will make. At least that's what religious people will tell you. I believe the apparent contradiction in the free will/all-knowing God dichotomy is evidence of a man-made God. Here goes. God is supposed to be perfect, right? He gives you the choice to worship him or not but he REALLY, REALLY wants you to choose to worship him. That is vanity, no? And isn't vanity a defect? Aren't perfect beings defect-free? What is the source of vanity in this existence? Man.

In Bible God is omnibenevolent (all loving)He is also omniscient (all knowing) omninpresent (all present) and omnipotent (all powerful). God is just (meaning all sin must be satisfied in order for it to be paid)(sin is like a debt) That is why Jesus died in the cross once in for all the complete payment for our sin. That is why when you believe in him even though you sin; you are no longer a sinner but someone who is imperfect that God is slowly polishing into perfection someday we will found perfect in Christ. He alone is perfect. So when we sin we have somebody to give it to, we no longer posses it as our own; it belongs to Jesus. Jesus is our way out and God provided him to us because he loves us very much. - God does not punished us for our sin. It is the fruits of our sin (the consequences) that makes all the trouble and suffering. We live in an imperfect world which is rule by cause and effect (what we do will determined the outcome) We can use our free will to trust and obey him. The rest is up to him.

God forsees what we will do because He exists outside of time. For Him, past, present, and future are all one and the same.

This does not interfere with what we choose to do. We choose the outcome and He then knows what it is.

GOD gives us free will to choose Him as He chose us.He knows all and sees all so of course Him being omnipotent and all you will always have a choice,But you can not fulfil your place in the grand plan of GOD if you do not choose to do so.If you were saved you would seek GODS plan in your life by reading his word with an alert mind and a receptive heart, and of course you would be grateful for Him sacrificing His Son Jesus christ to rescue you from the pits of hell.So you see you do have all the free will in the world. If you do not choose to follow Him,He will not choose to change your life for the better in ways you could ever imagine.Read your Bible and pray for enlightenment.

God is all-knowing, so He already knows what you are going to do before you do it. Free will means that you can decide for yourself what you will and will not do. If you do something that God doesn't want you to do, He's not going to take control over your body and make you do it. He will, however, demonstrate his pleasure or displeasure in the consequences of your choices.

No, it's not that you don't have choices or free will. It's just that God knows what you will choose. The only thing He "controls" is ministry. In that regard, He controls who is called to it and who is effected by it.

God knows everything there is to know except human will. Since he allows people to choose he doesn't know what you decide and what your will is. So it's like if you had a son or daughter and you were close to him/her then you know what they might choose to do but you don't know for sure. So God is all knowing to a point but he allows your to choose to do what you want.

They can't both be true, either God doesn't know all and is not all powerful or he knows all and we don't have free will and he still is not all powerful. If he knows what's going to happen, then he can't really do whatever he wants, now can he? And if he doesn't know what's going to happen, he's not really all powerful, now is he?

the ending is the same for you and for all of us, no matter what. Your free will is in how do you want to make the travel to the ending.
short? long? funny? sad?
That's up to you.
And the ending is not the final moment of your life, it is the moment when you , in spirit, become ONE with God.

I see it like a tree. All of the branches end up into the same area. Each ending is the same but there are different branches we can choose to take and different lessons we learn along the way. So although the end is already known...each branch is ours to choose.
