In geography i learnt that during earthquakes it is best to hide below a door frame, i suppose the logic being that a door frame can support a lot of stress so it wont collapse easily. My best bet would be to be under a door frame on the lowest floor because then there's no chance of the floor beneath you crumbling and taking you down with it .
