Well as each child is individual so is their potty training. Some are ready sooner than others. My kids were ready closer to 3yrs. Some kids are ready by 20 months. Yet its not until about 14-18 months that they really notice and a bit later before they feel and can control their bodily functions. Sometimes pushing the matter can have repercutions and set you back a whole year. If you let the child show you when they are ready usually it is easier on everyone and quicker. They will show you when they are ready when they mimic you, can tell you ahead of time they have to go pee, and ask you lots of questions about going pee. The famous one is I want to pee just like mommy/daddy. comments. Go ahead and show them the potty chair, but don't force it.

In my experience, potty training is a process. I would check out some books for you to read to her, buy a potty chair and let her try it out and let her watch you go potty (if she never has). See how she reacts to all of these things. If she seems willing continue on with praise, rewards, etc. If she refuses, put them away and try again later. Let her actually lead the way. And as far as nighttime potty training, I wouldn't even consider that now.

You can start anytime,as long as she will sit on the potty!!! Just take her when you go,and if she does ok and if she doesn't ok to,at least she'll get the idea of what she's supposed to do. When she goes praise her,I sing "pee pee in the potty, pee pee in the potty,(while clapping my hands)yeah big girl!!!My daughter just laughs and is so proud of herself, and even dances sometimes!! She gets to where she tells me she has to go or either she takes her diaper/pull ups off and sits on the potty chair. She's not fully trained yet,but she's getting there. Just offer it to her when you go and put it in the livingroom and put her on it when she watches cartoons or her favorite show. Most of all have patiences with her. GOOD LUCK!!!

You can start introducing her to the potty. For sure!!!
Do not expect immediate results. Some children are ready at this age to potty train some are just not.
Do not push it but leave it open for her at this age let her lead the way.

If she can say potty, it is definatly time to start. My daughter was completely potty trained, even through the night, by the time she was 22 months old

I think that children should be introduced to the potty when their curiosity leads them in that direction. It sounds like your daughter is at a great time in her life to begin potty training! Getting stuck on numerical ages only can be quite a hindrance to effective parenting... Good luck! :)

i introduced the potty chair at 12 months to prevent my daughter from being scared of the potty and allowed her to try it out when ever she was interested. Now at almost 2.5 she is almost completely trained... she is even napping and making it through most nights with out messing.
the child will show an interest in going and will tell you he/she needs to go and is yucky. that's how you know he/she is starting to get ready. don't force it because then he/she'll stop doing it out of spite. it has to be their idea.

whenever she starts showing interest, now may be a good time to introduce the idea but don't force or punish her for not using the potty, reward her if she does, take it slow.if she gets a head start at it great if she doesn't at least you tried and it ain't the end of the world. each kid is different and they don't come with instructions.

If she can communicate potty, she is getting ready. Is she dry all night? Does she know when she potties in her diaper? These are good indications that she is ready. Be patient, it won't happen overnight.
Good luck
