I have a pdf form that I have to complete and I would like to type in the information required than to print it out and complete it by hand as it looks more professional. What kind of software do I need in order to be able to type within a .pdf file?

Typing in pdf is not handled by any specific software. The moment some one creates pdf, it is designed either editable or non-editable. So if the form is designed to be editable, you can fill the form with normal acrobat reader. If it is not, no other software can make you fill the form.

Just keep in mind, some pdf forms you can eter data but can not save, after enteringt data it ask you to take print as it looses all the information you type in, once you save it.

Hope it helps you.

Thise pdf files are designed to make you buy the expensive writer (costs like 250$)

I just printed out the form and then used some other text proggy to print the stuff on blank paper first (to see if it would fit in the gaps) and then have printed it on the form

It actually depends on how pdf form was created. If it was created using newer acrobat software, you can use acroread to fill in the form. It wont let you save it, but you can print it.
