Red, orange and brown colors appear to fall outside cats color range and are most likely seen as shades of gray or purple.
Plus, most (but not all) white cats with blue eyes, are deaf. (Not blind.) White cats with one blue eye, may be deaf in the ear on the same side as the blue eye. There are exceptions though.

Cats are not color-blind, dogs are.
Here is a bit of kitty trivia for you...
Cats cannot see directly beneath their noses. You can test this by offering your kitty a treat, such as Pounce. He can smell it, but if you drop it directly beneath his nose, he'll have to root around a bit before finding it.
Rumors aside, cats are not colorblind. Their ability to see color is not as enhanced as ours, but they can see some colors.
If normal human vision is 20/20, then that of the cat is 20/100. He has keen vision for objects far away, but things up close may appear fuzzy or blurred. Perhaps this is why cats do the sniff test when greeting friends.
Most white blue-eyed cats are deaf. A white cat with odd-eyes (one blue and one green or gold) will most often be deaf on the side with the blue eye.
This is the coolest one....
Cats "Kiss" with their Eyes. Have you ever noticed your cat gazing at you for a long moment and then slowly blinking his eyes? That's the kitty equivalent of a kiss, and you should feel very flattered. Of course, a nip on the nose is also their way of giving a kiss. If you want to show your cat you love him, give him a kitty kiss right back. No, not on the nose. Just give him that long stare and slow blink and see what happens.

Well-cats can see all colors just not as well as us,they can see colors like green, gray, yellows pales, and colors like that-they can not see hot pink and Dakar purple!Cats are night time animals in the wild so there eyes are set to see colors at night-most of the colors we cant see, color blind is really not"color" blind it mostly means they see darker shades of colors......to cats we are the color blind ones-fore we can not see most of what they can-for more information on this and other great cat facts you can read the "Warriors"series which is a story that disguises the facts as a fun adventure...its a great book!GOOD LUCK!

Cats appear to see less saturation in colors than humans, meaning cats do not see colors as intensely or vibrantly. Purple, blue & green appear to be the strongest colors perceived by cats.

Cats are NOT color blind. They just don't seem to care about different colors.
