Probably because you don't know how to drive. Cops don't pull you over for "no reason". Quit running that stop sign.

No. Cops don't profile. You aren't being profiled. Who the hell cares about a portugal flag? If that flag represents a gang or drug dealers in your area it could be a 'red flag' for an officer to pay attention to you, but that is NOT profiling. That is good police work.
They stop you for a reason. You may consider it to be not a good reason, but what if EVERYONE just slowed at a stop sign or sped up to get through a yellow light as it was turning red or sped through a neighborhood.
I use to get stopped a lot because I work late at night. Of course the cops are looking for drunk drivers. Thank goodness. I am a more cautious driver at night now and make sure I obey ALL the traffic laws and don't get stopped anymore.

I'm not sure it's a case of profiling. It may be that the vehicle draws attention more effectively. An inoccuous car and bright colored car doing the same thing: The bright colored car is more noticable, therefore more likely to be nailed.
It also may be (and forgive me for mentioning) that you're driving habits may attract attention. Drivers who accelerate quickly, even if not speeding are more noticeable. Same with lane changes, or following distance, etc. Some of these are infractions, others are simply "red flags" for law inforcement.

More than likely you are driving in a fashon that calls attention to yourself. Cops need a reason to pull you over, and if you draw their attention, they can usually find one. Drive in a safe manor, and turn the music down!

Why not tell us the reasons the police officers give for pulling you over. They can't just pull you over and say, "Ok, I just wanted to pull you over. You're free to go." They have to give a reason for their actions. You may think it is for no reason, but they probably provide a pretty good one.

My father gets pulled over quite often coming off the turnpike. (He works nights.) Can he cry "foul" even though he is white?

maybe they like you and just want to chat... maybe its the useless flags you have in your car... there is nothing wrong about being proud of who you are... BUT you don't have to display it as it only pisses people off like me... and this is america not portugal...
