You shouldn't be shaking anyone. It is abuse. A brain, no mater what size, is fragile and easily damaged by violent movement.

Shaking a teen is considered assault. A crock of crap but true. My husband works with a guy that slapped his 15 year old daughter because he caught her smoking pot with a much older guy. When he confronted her about this she become violent and verbally abusive. He spent a week in jail, has to serve 50 hours of community service and now has a criminal record. What did the teen get? A slap in the face by her father. Not to mention a bad example by the court system. Times have changed since I was a teen.

As much as we may want to shake a teen, they know their rights and will immediately report you to social services. It's not worth it.
