i'm having big problems with mine. i think it is useless because anyone can blow in it. it will also fail you for certain things you eat and it appears as alcohol. we need to get together on this and put a stop to it

Forget the peanut butter, that d00b has no clue what he's talking about.
And it won't stop the engine if you are prompted to blow again, but it will start blowing the horn and flashing the lights for a while. Killing the engine could be dangerous.
If you eat foods that contain alcohol, you may fail. They are set to a very low tolerance level because you're not supposed to be consuming ANY alcohol! Any mouthwash or medicine that contains alcohol will also block the car from starting. The mouthwash should clear within 20 minutes or so. Medicines are registered as alcohol for longer periods of time. Get something without alcohol, or just deal with it.
Be thankful that the judge offered you this option; he or she did NOT have to; and be thankful that your state offers this option, not all states do. They COULD have forced you to walk for 1 - 3 years or take taxis. You could possibly stop the program altogether if you fought hard enough, but then you'd be walking.

The interlock will also require a driver to blow into the machine every 10 minutes or so too, so your buddy (sober) can blow into it and send you on your way, but when you get 10 minutes down the road...presto...motor shuts off. Also don't use Listerine because it can show a positive result. Best thing to do is eat peanut butter (coats your mouth) and blow away. Anything that can mask the digesting alcohol will improve your ability to defeat that silly machine. However, if I ever catch you on the road drunk, I will personally kick your *** so bad you wont need a car from your comatose condition at Mercy Hospital.

Simple answer to your problem is to stop drinking alcohol altogether. I live in Va., and proud of it.

well duh! it's any alcohol. don't eat anything with alcohol in it. even mouth wash. not all of them are dna sensative, but get caught and the next one will be. I wouldn't complaine if i were you. my little bro had one installed after a DUI conviction....his has failed three of four times, and each time HE had to pay to get it towed in for repair....sounds like a scam to me....i always said virginia is a communist-wealth!!!
