I am very unhappy because my 79 old mum likes to speak dirty words or curse me when she is unhappy. I used to gave her some money (US$600) every month. But I stopped giving her for 2 years because she doesn't need more money .She has US $100 thousand in the bank. She lives with me and doesn't need to spend any money. She is very careful of her money . I tell her to buy good things and eat better. But she just likes keeping her money in the bank. Two days ago , she scolded me for not giving her any money. I told her that I don't earn as much as before and I also have to pay school fees for my child. She cursed me and fightened me that she would give her money to others. She has put her money in another bank and used her own name. And she asked me to return all her jewellery to her. I did immediately . Owning to these two reasons I determined not to give her any money. I have already given her for 20 years though she helpes me doing some the house work. Am I wrong and bad?

How ridiculaous that she said she has some gold coins in my safe box . I went to have a look because I forgot it but I found nothing .Then she said I intend to steal it. I was very angry and frightened and thought that the bank staff might steal it . Then I asked her to see if it was in her own safe box. Yes, there they were and some of mine were there. I took back mines. Then she wanted to give me something which she said was my marriage present but she kept them. I was too angry and said, No I don't want it . Keep it and put it in your coffin in the future. I am her only daughter and she treats me like thief.

You should never curse at your mom, but you are grown and to help her out with money every now and then is ok but to have her get money from you every month is a different story. You need to take care of all your priorities before giving away money. When your mother does something for you like house cleaning she should do it out of the kindness of her heart not because she expects anything out of you. No. In my eyes you are a saint! Why shouldn't she help with the housework? She lives there! You don't OWE her a place to live, let alone an allowance! So many people think that because their parents raised them that they should just sacrifice their lives to care for the parents and that is crap! Parents CHOOSE to have kids. It is a parent's obligation to care for a child they chose to bring into the world. It is nice that you help her, but not your duty. She should be grateful!
