Some people are confused, or simply don't care too much about actual doctrines. They will mix and match religious ideas as if they were components of some sort of spiritual trail mix.

I see no problem with the idea of Pagans embracing the teachings of Jesus, because he's cool. I mean, come on, you have to admit he was pretty cool. Just like Ghandhi and Buddha were cool. I do wish they'd use a different word than Christo-Pagan though, like maybe Jesu-Pagan or um something that doesn't imply that you accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior and follow the 10 Commandments.
There are many Christian/Pagan hybrids in existance that have been around a very long time, such as Umbanda and Senteria. But at least they don't call themselves Christo-Pagan. In the Anthropological community they are known as Synchretic.

What a great way to describe the beliefs of those who blend christian and pagan systems of worship. Oddly enough, the modern form of christianity is a blend of christo-pagan beliefs. Even Jesus blended the Hebrew belief system with the greek ideals of the time, not to mention his "sermon on the mount" was almost exactly the same as some of the writings of the worshipers of Mithra, a religion that began about a hundred years prior to Christ's time. Jesus, who spent some time in his childhood in a greek culture, understood that there was some good in many different "paths."
War, although often blamed on religion, is most often a political weapon, not a spiritual one. People have and will always find reasons to kill each other. I just hope someday they stop blaming God for it.

The best thing to do is to not comtemplate this question and to give up on all organized religions completely, particularly christianity, as they are all a waste of time. To try and figure out the reasons christians do what they do is an impossible task.
Ask them why they hate Jews and Pagans when their religion actually stemmed from Judaism and Paganism. I know, I've seen the physical proof throughout Europe. None of it makes sense so save yourself a whole lot of time and think about more worthwhile things. The Buddhists are the closest to the truth IMO.

This is the first i've heard the term christo-pagan...but if you'll do a little more research you'll find other cultures that may have been influenced by jesus directly--example--i did a search on yoga and was intrigued to find that there is a group that worships jesus and recognize him as a sage that came and stayed with them for a time in the east...very good reading...

Good question! Never mind ur reasonings. Why add Christianity to impure filth? Just like some who say that atheism is a religion. Hogwash! How can you be a christian and a Buddhist? How can you be spiritual and a atheist? How can you be a evolutionist and christian? People are so confused. Either be one or the other!

Sorry to see you are letting the existence and concept of christo-paganism bother you so much.
Perhaps you could do a little research to understand it better rather than letting it anger you.
