Hi, I've just started a job for a painting firm who do up peoples houses. I've only been there for a few days so im on the supplies duty and have to go and get the paint and tools needed for each job. We are doing a house up north at the moment and the guy is a huge Newcastle fan and wants his kids room to be painted black and white stripes as a shrine to Newcastles toon army.
My boss has told me i need to get black and white striped paint for the walls but i cant get any anywhere. I dont want to ask my boss or collegues where to get it from as i dont want to come across as stupid and incompetant. If i cant even find the right paint on my own i doubt they will keep me on. I've trawled through the internet and hardware stores but no one seems to have it. There must be somewhere i can get it. i need it for the weekend.
To make it worse i've told my boss i've ordered it and its being delivered, if i dont find somewhere soon hes gonna know i've lied and sack me. PLEASE HELP!

Just ask that same girl you saw at the hardware store, that was in the decking section!

I think your boss is pulling your leg as you can not get blk and white stripe paint. Sounds like new boy joke. But if you have told him you got it then go to b and q or home base any major supplies and but the paint. Black and white are stocked with them and dont worry about which one use a brand name like deluxe etc and your be fine. The only thing you need to be clear on is weather to use Matt of silk, silk gives a shine to the walls and most people per-fer silk.Good luck.

Black and White "striped paint" ....... your boss is taking the p*ss out of you. You cannot buy black & white striped paint - just black paint and white paint. Then paint it onto the walls in black stripes and white stripes. Its like being asked to go and buy a tin of tartan paint or a tall skirting board ladder. But atleast your question has made me laugh today - thanks.

Try Benjamin Moore or Sherwin Williams stores. They carry all kinds of paint and can advise you.

you can't buy black & white striped paint, you have to buy black paint and white paint, mark out the walls and stripe it yourself.
