After losing the U.S. Open yesterday Phil said it really stings, having worked so hard and "not making a bogey all week and then losing it on the final hole." Didn't he finish +6 or there abouts. If he didn't make a bogey all week, as he said in the interview, than he must have shot 6 over par on the final hole? Not good.

I think playing winged foot is like taking three hours of Algebra exams, put anyone's mind to dust... Phil is OK. Though, don't think he is the best golfers, still think Tiger is.. Tiger was just thinking of his personal life too much playing the US open.
I think everyone deserve a break. Playing Winked Foot is like driving a car up and down the mountain roads besides deep valleys of death. Get worst with the notion that every stupid things a player done, will be highly criticised for the next ten years. Give Phil a break, think he a nice guy. Winning is not as important as he was trying his best until his mind fried.

He was mentioning not making bogey on hole number 18 all week. He went par - par - par - double bogey.
Phil simply didn't think properly, as he knew the scoring situation as the scores were posted by the 17th green. He refused to simply play a boring 19th hole with four wood or long iron, etc...then made his problem worse by not punching into the fairway....
Gambler Phil showed up at the wrong time yesterday, and it cost him (and golf fans, too...) plenty.

You are right, Phil is laying, he made 14 bogeys, 10 birdies and a double Bogey, I'm sure he was confused and out of his mind, when he answer that........well in his own words, !!Idiot!!
