no, fake. ASTROLOGY IS THE PREDICTION OF THE FUTURE BY STUDYING THE STARS. ASTRONOMY IS THE A SCIENCE OF THE STUDYING OF THE STARS, NOT TRYING TO INTERPRET THE FUTURE.

My mother has been studying astrology for 35 years. She looks at the positions every day. When I was growing up she spelled out what my fate and life would be. I had the impression that it would be like she said.

Then one day, I decided astrology was a bunch of hogwash. I started living my life differently and the "difficulties" I was supposed to have according to my horoscope went away. My mother attributed it to "free-will". The idea of "free-will" makes astrology 100% accurate, because when it doesn't work you merely have to say "free-will" and then everything is O.K. But who doesn't act out of there own "free-will" every day and how can you tell when you are not using free-will and when you are? Hogwash

There was a drive during the 70's to make astrology into a science, but it has been deemed a pseudo-science by the greater scientific community. There are several links at the end of the wikipedia article that talk about this so I will not get into a discussion here.

My own conclusions include the arbitrary names of planets outside the orbit of Saturn. These were given in relatively modern times and have nothing to do with the medieval and Roman astrology that it is all based on.

The outer planets are not observable by the naked eye and some unknown person claimed to give interpretations to what these outer planets mean in a horoscope. The interpretations are similar to the personality of the Roman gods they are supposed to represent. Additionally, the "Ruling Planets" associated with each star sign have changed to accomidate the new planets.

We have a 10th planet much larger than Pluto now. I suppose it is time for astrologers to make up new interpretations of this planet and try to fit it to everything that has already been said. It would have to be very vague however.

There are two points which I believe are unresolved as far as astrology goes.

1. It is weak in the philosophical argument for Determinism
2. The Three wisemen were "magi", a kind of astrology priest.
(the wikipedia article talks about this, although it has a few errors of scholarly fact which need to be corrected)

I studied astrology and its history and came to the conclusion that it is meaningless, although not evil as conservative Christians claim. One should ask, "what is its purpose and does it benefit or hinder society?" Few people take it any more seriously than as mild amusement from a magazine.

There is no destiny: you get out of life what ever you put into it through hard work..

The study is based on certain caluclations made on the time of birth, place inc the latttitute, longitude and position of some stars. This indicates the karma of the person in the past life and what he can acheive in the present one. Astrology is true but some ppl for their personal gains have misused it. I am an amatuer astrologer myself. By caluclations, astrologers can telll us to which phase uir going through in your life which is of much importance

Where the stars were in the heavens at your birth tends to define the personality. We all have free will choices and can make our own destiny. Allow the energies of the cosmos work in and through your life in the best possible manner...then make a wonderful destiny designed by your own free will choices.

No!! Man has been using Math, Satanism and many other means to prdict the future throughout time. Kings, Pharoh's Emperors all used wizards and mediums. None actually worked.

All trash-- often self fulfilling prophecies come true because the believer wants it to so makes it happen.

4 kinds of Astrology:
East Indian,
Aboriginal ( USA Indian)
American (Yankee)
Chinese Astrology

Most times they conflict if ones sign+ is cast in all four.

THERE ARE NO ASTRONOMERS THAT BELIEVE IN ASTROLOGY !

I'd say yes and no. It doesn't work personally for the average person but is more designed for major events of the world as signs set up by God. Magi used it to determine Jesus' birth.

No. It is just entertainment. Here is info from a college astronomy course explaining why astrology is for entertainment purposes only.

The sun-sign horoscopes that are found in newspapers, are fake. But if you have your real natal chart made, based on your actual birthtime, you can find out many things about yourself. You can get it for free at http://www.astro.com
