I had the same problem until i started putting a bit of watered down conditioner in my hair after washing and conditioning it. And then applying a small amount of baby oil. This works great whether I choose to leave it curly or make it straight. Plus it has made my hair stay very healthy. No split ends on my hair I promise! and it's been atleast 8 months since I last cut it. Crazy huh! Yup it's long but it really looks great! Panteen works great! It might take a while untill you learn how much to use on your hair but once you do you wont want to try any thing else. If you use too much conditioner just rinse some of it out same with the baby oil. Another trick for dealing with too much oil is wipe it off your hair with a paper towel or cotton towel. Works great. Hair spray doesn't work very good with this though . ok . best for natural styles.

I have naturally curly hair also. I use these products for my hair:
1. Infusium Leave-In Conditioner-Original Formula
2. VO5 Whipped Volume Mousse (just a little)
3. VO5 Curvaceous Curls Mousse (just a little)
4. Treseme' Curl Care Scrunching Spray
5. Last thing is the Garnier Fructiss Root Body & Volume Lifter.
6. Dry upside down with a diffuser
7. Do not touch hair or play with fingers, doing so will cause your hair to frizz.

Good Luck

blow dry it with a large round brush, taking small sections at a time. Use a heat protection spray. If you are using a cheap straightener than you are right, it is frying your hair. Get a chi. They are expensive, but worth it. And straighten is small sections. Use Bio Silk, Silk Therapy. It smells really good, and it helps for frizzy hair.

I have the same problem. And this is what I do. You can also get a better blow dryer. I have a T3. It is expensive. But it doesn't dry your hair out.

I use something called Zero Frizz - it is a serum that I put in my hair after I take a shower. I either blow it dry or let it dry naturally, in which case it gets wavy, but not frizzy. Any serum-type product should help, you just need to figure out how much to use. Too little doesn't work and too much can make your hair feel greasy. I have spent my life trying to figure out how to get my hair to the point where I don't hate it, and this has defnitely helped - I can even let it air dry without worrying if I will look like I stuck my finger in a light-socket!

I have really poofy, curly hair too, but I tame it with hair serum. Just rub a dime-sized drop in your palms and, starting from the bottom, scrunch it into your curls. Do the top of your head last to avoid looking greasy. If you want to look more glam, try a ceramic straightener. They are about $200, but well worth it! Make sure to get regular trims too, dead ends make hair look even poofier.

You won't fry it with a good staightner like a chi put out by Farouk but you must use the product called Repair and shine and let the Iron do the work don't try to pull it straight. And little of the product goes along way so invest wisely hey your worth it.....

I have been using a straightner for a really long time, and I love it. But if your hair is poofy, then use hair spray.
