It is really simple: The Bible simply works! That is it, I do what the Bible says and the results happen.
The Bible says a man must be born again. I got on my knees before God and asked him to forgive me and come into my life and when I finished, I was different inside. He changed me inside, I didn't want to sin any more. It just works.
some things are hard to understand, but when we do understand, then it just works. He promised to take care of me and he has for over 30 years.
I know that this sounds like garbage to you, but it has worked for me for 30 years and I am happy and having a great time with Jesus. Why in the world would I ever want my old life back, nothing but problems. IT WORKS.

I believe in the bible, but I take into account the other translations and the removed texts.
If you read the bible, you should read all of it, not just what the church claims is divinely inspired.
The bible is a text which is difficult to maintain the validity of, many things seem far fetched(more so in whats removed, See: The Apocrypha) But if you look at how much of it is grounded in fact(the groups and leaders often were real, the wars occured, and even the flood happened(although it was only the bibles region of the world that was truly effected.
That and if you develop a personal relationship with the lord, you can work out which parts make sense, and which are the opinions of men who translated the bible throughout history.

The Bible is all symbolic. If you know what that means you will also understand that in the bible there are no lies just it's all written
in a symbolic way.
I give you an Example, in the Bible it is written King David killed Goliath who was a giant with a stone, that is symbolic..Goliath rappresents an very big army and yes indeed the general of the army Goliath was a heavy man. So you see you can't read the bible literally.

I think it was inspired mostly due to the need of man for some type of law in the day. I believe what was written on faith. But I do also take it with a grain of salt. Some of it may be fiction.

I am always trying to make sense of some of what the bible contains, but i guess some of the stories are just too hard to comprehend, too far fetched. But in my humble opinion i have come up with a conclusion, most of the stories that are within the bible were made up to help people better understand what the Christians are supposed to believe in(sort of like fairy tales that teach morality to children), i guess what i am trying to say is, i think that those that wrote it had good intentions, and that i believe in the good that it represents.

Because the Catholic Church said so. No, seriously I mean it.
I do have a reason for believing the Catholic Church is true, but it is difficult to describe becomes it comes from faith.
However, you are looking for a pragmatic answer. I respect that. I have a book for you. G.K. Chesterton "Orthodoxy"
It is public domain so you can read it on the internet if you'd like. He should help you out in understanding why it is pratical to the point of logical sanity to be Christian. You may disagree, and I in no way am trying to persuade, but I think you may at least come to understand just a bit of the Christian mind. Good luck.

The Bible is the sure foundation. The reason why it is inspired one; because God said in it that all scripture was given by God. Second; it has been proven and what hasn't been proven as yet cannot be disproved. It takes faith to believe in it but what else is there that is sure that can compare? Would God leave us without His word to guide us? Because the heart of a man is sinful continually and how else would we know truth unless it is given to us to try?

most believe in the bible since it speaks of fear and that fear makes people want to believe in it even more. the fact is most christians dont even read the whole bible just what they want to read. there is no real reason to believe in a book when all the answers of life are already in you.
christians and islamics are just looking for a reason to believe and if they have no other way to find god they sooner turn to there war god in the bible or quran.

I believe what is written because it explains so much from our modern day world. Things like creation...Who but God could have created such a wonderful thing as a newborn baby... I do have a hard time with the fact that it was man that interpreted it from its original writings though.
