Gee....no one is always right and no one is always wrong. When a husband and wife just cannot agree, someone is just going to have to concede to get past the moment. In our American society, the family unit is no longer headed by the male in the household...marriage has become a partnership. After this disagreement has passed, sit down and discuss further how you may have handeled the situation....FAIRLY. Which means, no name-calling or dredging up issues that do not pertain to the current one.

If you're christian, the bible says the man is indeed the "man of the house" however we may all believe that what your husband is doing is fun and maybe you are going too easy on your child. if he becomes too strict onyour child, though get help!you also have to think about what the punishment is doing for your son and if its HELPFUL or not in the long run...

No, what makes anyone think this?
It is not easy for children having two very different sets of rules to live by. All kids needs and wants fair and reasonable rules, I think. Especially when it comes to subjects that really matters. Rules that include questions on values and such.
In questions when it is not very important, kids kan relate to parents having different opinions, tho.
You and your husband must have the possibility to sit down and talk over what you can agree on, what you must comprimize over and what you really have to discuss closer (when you cant agree). You need to stick to what you agreed upon.

LOL...... Funny!!!! No it doesn't mean the husband is correct just because he is the man of the house. It means you guys gotta work out a compromise of some sort.

Obviously parenting is a two person job, luckily your kids have a father to discipline them. No his way is not always going to be the correct way, but at least he takes a stance.
......again, your kids have a much better chance as you are a 2 parent family. Congrats' on that......

Keep in mind that there's absolutely no WAY two people are going to "parent" in the same way. Just because you do things differently, doesn't mean one of you is wrong. But you still should be able to discuss things involving your child privately (out of earshot of the child), even if you just agree to disagree.

No, in these days you have gender equality, so I don't see why the husband should be considered correct all the time. Try consulting an unbiased third party.

Husbands aren't always considered as correct and so as wives. It only depends on the situation and what do each side think and say.

While my husband and I disagreed on discipline we agreed to NEVER disagree in front of the children. We presented a united front and then discussed privately why I thought he was too lenient or too harsh or whatever.
When it comes to raising children, if you don't want them to do it tomorrow, don't LET them do it, today!
