yes, they are all over long island, i used to collect photos of them because they came in diffrent shapes. they are all very tall steal structures, some almost round, most barrel shaped, one shaped like an onion. most are painted blue or grey. in ny city almost every building has its own and they are mostly giant wooden barrels with iron bands and cone shaped caps.

We have a large tall blue water tower near our home in our community that is no longer functional...
It used to be used a lot but when the city incorporated us into it, the water we get is now city water and we don't use the tower any longer so the owners of the land painted the tower blue and painted our community name on it big enough for all to see when driving by...

There are a couple near here in Fuzhou, China, painted decoratively with red and white stripes. The supports are long and slender but the top opens out with a fan shape. Where I live in Swanage, Dorset, England there is a fort-like structure at the top of the town which used to be a water tower but is now a house.

There is a water tower on Radbourne Lane at Mackworth,Derby. It is a tall round tower with a pumping building nearby to keep the pressure right.

Nope. Our raw water reservoirs are pretty high up. No need for water towers. There's a cool water tower near York University though - it's as mad as a sack of spiders.

Yes. This is a concrete tank supported on four concrete legs with a central cylinderical access tower. Standing at approx 90`.
Constructed prior to ww2.

Half a block from my house. It is a fat ol' water tower that stands some sixty feet from the ground on top.

Yes I do. It is shaped like a flying saucer. We are small, 350 population and about a mile off the main hiway so we just tell people to watch for the white UFO.

Yes, its not in use though, Its about 40 ft in height and made of steel and concrete, it used to use potential energy to provide water to the village
