It is a wonderful goal, for a person to devote himself to follow and imitate Jesus Christ.

However, more is required than simply "believing" in Jesus. For example, Jesus commanded that ALL who would call themselves "Christian" perform this public work:

(Matthew 28:19,20) Go therefore and make disciples of people of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the holy spirit, teaching them to observe all the things I have commanded you. And, look! I am with you all the days until the conclusion of the system of things.”

Really, although it is a relatively small religion, Jehovah's Witnesses are the most prominent group who are actually following Christ's command.

The Catholic church is not, was not, and never has been the beginning of Christianity. Christ is the beginning of Christianity.

Protestants protested the sins, lies, and perversions of Christianity, yet did not purge themselves of the pagan gods and doctrines of Catholicism.

JWs and Mormons are not offshoots of Catholicism as are almost all protestant churches, as they are anti-Christ in nature. In spite of everything wrong with Catholicism and protestantism, they at least are not anti-Christ.

Jesus made the path of righteousness a person walk, with no need for any rules, rituals, or doctrines. While this is a great new covenant, most people don't want to take responsibility for their own conduct, and having a set of rules to follow is easier than personal responsibility.

Too many of the Christian bashers on here are basing their attacks on Organized Christian religions because real, spiritual Christianity can not be attacked.

I believe republicans are hurting themselves simply because the neo-con factor is far away from the fiscal conservative ways. It's a death sentence eventually if they keep it up. I'm fully Liberal - no doubt about it, but your question is so full of 'maybe if they did this or that' and 'what ifs' it seems your being 'Liberal' in the true sense isn't true at all. I figure you're a closet conservative republican masquerading as a Liberal, because if it's true you are black, you are desperately trying to find ways to convince other minorities to go over to the republicans - ain't gonna happen. Blacks and Hispanics are NOT basically 'right leaning' - the only ones I've heard of are the Cuban sector in the Miami area and even they went in a majority for Obama in 2012. Where you got that idea, I have NO idea, because they voted for Obama in overwhelming numbers - just the same as Obama beat Hillary in the primaries in 2008 - the Black and Hispanics went to Obama, who normally would have gone to her, if Obama hadn't entered the race, or he hadn't been black. This factor alone will keep the republicans out of the White House almost ad infinitum, imho. The Democrats offer a fair shake for Hispanics and Blacks if the temperment is right - republican conservatives -especially in the South still can't get over losing The Civl War, it's so bad there still. I hate to burst your bubble but there's something not right about your info.

Mormonism doesn't come from the Protestant line...whether you like them or not, they don't believe the same things as Protestants and they consider themselves the restoration of Christ's church--not just a break-off like everyone else.

But that is a valid point--if Catholicism isn't true...then no Protestant branch could be either. Nothing short of a 'restoration' of Christianity could be true if Catholicism isn't true. Mormons believe they are that.

Catholicism is not the beginning of Christianity. True Christianity, not Western, American, Canadian, Native whatever-ism, is a conversion, a lifestyle that reflects the life of Jesus Christ. It's not a religion, a program, a dogma, etc. It's a spirit-filled walk with the Lord. I think all the boiled hate that you have towards the false Christianity is a result from your lack of knowledge and experience with a real live Christian touched by God Himself. It's sad but many like you are hell bent on blaming God who is the essence of love. He created the things you worship, the moon, sun, air, sea, sky, earth...I think your focus and priorities are wrong. You need God. You need to get serious healing...an not from a witch doctor from your tribe, but from the Master healer Himself, Jesus Christ. Give your hurt, hate and unbelief to Him and He will cause you to see.

I believe that the gap between Protestantism and Catholicism is slowly being bridged... if both can eventually unite over the once heated debate over the real presence of Christ in the Eucharist, which the center of Catholic faith in this world, then we will be one step closer to a "catholic" (universal) church which Christ preached. Also... Mary and the Saints CANNOT forgive sin, we just ask for intercession (additional prayer to God and Christ). It's the same as asking someone else to pray for you in a time of need.

Thats correct they all came from her, just as the Bible said that we were once in Babylon but we should come out of her before it is too late. Whenever you get new truth that is supported by the Bible you should follow it and not the traditions of men. the Catholic church is doing some good things but some of its teachings are not Biblical; like Mary and the priests can forgive sins and the immortality of the soul which are not Biblical. You can search the Bible and see for yourself.

All isms are not of God. God is a living entity and wants us to worship him directly in spirit and truth. Not to get caught up in some man made organization. That was the problem with the pharases and saduces in ancient times.

Not sure it matters at all. If you are a decent person and do what is right, not sure the type of church you choose should matter. If it really matters to god the details of your worship, then you are better off without such a nit picky god.
