The best way is by acquiring good habits. Not just good eating habits but also a couple of rules of thumb: If eating carbs only do it in the morning b/f 10 a.m, don't eat after 4 or 5 p.m, don't skip meals, drink lots of water. Stay away from temptation and people who overeat (if family members try to eat at a different time at leat at the beggining), exercise. Start incorporating these things little by little into your life. Overdoing anything being diet or exersice will make u not want to do it again so start slowly accepting that u might not be so strong willed all the time and that if u do diviate from your plan b/c of cheesecake or ice cream its OK but u have to pay by exercising more.

Figure out what sports you like to do and not to do. Im your age and what I love to do is go swimming, play volleyball, and softball. Once you start being active then you will turn fat into muscle but remember muscle weighs more than fat. But by doing this you dont HAVE to diet. Alot of people say dieting well for kids and teens dieting is not healthy at all because our bodies need those sometimes unhealthy foods to grow but our bodies dont need candy so stay away from that.

I've lost 5 kilos in my first week. It's my 10th day and I have included salad with some protein (eg. egg/ lean chicken) as you suggested. After 4 years of trying, the fat is finally coming off. It truly feels like magic!
Get started today!

If none of this work for you, try the excersise program outlined in "Ultimate Weight Loss for Teens" (Jay McGraw) where he shows safe weight loss for teens and how to deal with body image, peer pressure in weight loss, and negative thoughts linked to weight in teens. It works very well in loosing weight and boosting not only your body image and esteem to others but also to yourself.
To get the book, try this link (there is also a summary):

You need to make sure that you exercise regularly..drink lots of water(I know water tastes like poo-but you have to)..eat right..stay off the junk. It isnt going to be quick but it is the safest method. Talk to you doctor also.

exercise, eat the right foods, and drink lots of water. most importantly don't expect too much. i know you want to get in shape quickly but its not going to happen fast. so don't get discouraged if you don't notice a change right away
