Faster film is ideal for low lighting situations along with action shots where you need to use quicker shutter speeds (to minimize blur).

Faster film tends to produce a grainier resolution and higher contrast. (which I like personally)

Slower film is great for shooting when light isn't an issue or when you've got a tripod, otherwise, it's not very practical.

Slower film usually produces a "better quality" neagtive, giving you a less grainy image with more grey tones.

High ISO is used to create stop action images. It's mainly used for sports. However, a high ISO is also used when there isn't ample light situations.

Low ISO is used mainly for portrait and fine photography. Low ISO is used when there is a lot of light available to you.
