Catholics don't worship or idolize Mary. They don't worship or idolize the Pope. Yet Protestants spread those lies and others.

Is their faith so weak that it cannot stand on its own without trying to spread falsehoods? Is it an inferiority complex on the Protestants' part, since they were started by a man 1,600 long years after Jesus walked this world? Do they perhaps realize that they are closer to "being Branch Davidians following David Koresh" than followers of Jesus Christ our Lord? I guess when you claim to follow Jesus Christ, and you also know that Jesus himself began Catholicism when he left his church to Peter here on Earth, it's hard to reconcile feelings of inadequacy. Thus you have to spread misinformation. What say you all?

Oh, and please don't spread MORE lies on here while answering. I love the guy who said that Catholics beliefs are contrary to the bible! Oh, really? And where did you get your knowledge of the Catholic faith? Your preacher? He MIGHT be just a little biased.

Oh, and he's lying too. I believe I saw something about that in the ten commandments. Can you recall what the bible said about that?

The lies continue! Catholics do NOT pray to Mary. Wow, Protestants really are clueless!

It is not just in regards to Catholics, I see people answering questions about other faiths they clearly have no grasp of.

The Catholic church is good in certain things that it does but the doctrines that it preaches and what is in your list of beliefs some are directly contrary to the Bible. If you are a true Catholic you would know what the beliefs of the Catholic church is and the you should compare it to scripture. How do you know what is truth? You have to use the Bible to test it. Some of the beliefs of the Catholic church directly states that Mary and the priests can forgive sins also the Holy Father which is Christ Vicar on earth which Catholics call the popes. See for yourself.

The Lord Jesus Christ did not start Catholicism. He told Peter to feed the sheep which is well known to mean to spiritually feed human being the truth about God being Jesus Christ.

What has happened to organized churches ever since then is an interesting history. Many organized churches today are fighting against the New Jerusalem which teaches and will teach that God is one and there is a conjuction of charity and faith. Any doctrine and official statements of faith can be judged first of all on those two points. Do you think Jesus Christ is the I AM? Do you believe faith apart from works is dead? The Bible does teach these two points of doctrine which belong to the church forever.

If anyone wants to know why, observe them. I have done it and saw what I need to see and this I can say. Those who protested the Catholic faith are mostly former ignorant Catholics themselves. They were former sinners who probably at one time accidentally tripped and find themselves listening to a preaching and found out that they actually did sin. By the time they realized that they have sinned they started blaming the catholic church as if it was the church that lead them to sin. Why? Were they not enjoying themselves when they were sinning or did the Catholic church approve of their sinful acts? Why blame the church when it was them who actually commited the acts. Admitting that you have sinned and asking forgiveness from God and changed the old ways for the better by following the right path is I think enough for one to be saved. Why do they have to attack catholics?

I think I can consider your idea that this is out of their inferiority complex. Maybe they too have doubts but since they were brainwashed to be so, later it became truth. Lies reinforced by several times to be accepted as true will eventually become truth. But it is pseudotruth. There seem to be something that they fear and don't seem to understand themselves like the fear of the unknown. That fear makes them hostile to Catholics who are as Christian as they can be or maybe more. One very valid question that can be raised in here is that, If they are really against the veneration of Mary, why the Catholics only and not the Greek Orthodox who have practically the same belief as the catholics with regards to Mary and the Saints? Do you see my point? If that is really their objective in showing the truth, why are they selective in approaching such goal or intention? This alone can make you think that something is wrong with what they really know or are they just a bunch of brainwashed if not ignorant self righteous Christians who were stirred by their preachers..

I know that some preachers are good and I myself have high regards to some of them. They are good in convincing the ignorants. I know because I am aware too that there are a lot of former Catholics who converted to protestantism and repented, came back with a lot of fantastic stories. But teaching people about beliefs like praying to Mary and the saints and other claims are their best tool to attack the lameness of the formerly ignorant Catholics and assuring them that they are saved. Some of them are chidren of protestants themselves who have been totally convinced that Catholics do pray to Mary are closeminded and won't listen to reason anymore and that can not be corrected at anytime. So, I believe that we should just let them be because definitely there is nothing more that we can do about it.

Whoa, whoa, whoa. Slow down there buddy.

First of all, you are overgeneralizing Protestants. Most of them do not at all think that you worship Mary or the Pope. Many of you do, however, have pictures or statues of them in your homes, and many Catholics pray to/through Mary (even if you personally don't).

It's also silly to dismiss Protestants because "they were started by a man 1,600 long years after Jesus walked this world". Protestantism wasn't conjured out of thin air, it branched from the foundations of Catholicism. Even if you don't believe in or support it, at least try to understand what you're talking about.

As far as Catholicism itself, it was NOT created by Jesus. It was an invention a little bit later on. If you feel so ardently about Catholicism, please tell me about which scriptures point to the existence of Limbo? How about paying your way out of Hell? How about confessing your sins to a priest instead of to God, and then going Saturday and comitting the same sins you confessed on Friday?

I don't mean to attack your Church or you personally, but I would like you to see that every church is a man-made creation, and that means they all have their flaws.

God bless you.

There are at least 45,000 Protestant churches in the U.S.

What caused all these different beliefs if the MESSAGE is so clear?

What makes you believe that you have more than a 1 in 45,000 chance of being in the 'correct' church?

Virgin Birth - A preconceived notion?

What is the Imacculate Conception?

An Imacculate deception?

Betcha don't know.

Did Jesus give up Saturday for us?

Jesus? Christianity? .

If Jesus died, he could NOT have been God.

Gods do not die? Do they?

If Jesus 'died' on Friday and 'undied' on Sunday, what else besides Saturday was sacrificed?

If Jesus died for our sins, thre should not be any more sins.

If Jesus really DIED, he should be dead, dead, dead!

they attack out of ignorance. forgive them they know not what they do. ive noticed catholicism is taking a more laid back apporach it wont get me to reconvert but its a good start for its bad beginnings. just remember never to take the bible literally or the Pope seriously and you will be fine@!

I left christianity because of the hate and dissention ive seen within the walls of the church and outside of it. Ive seen families torn apart because two were christians of differing sects believing the other to be hellbound. that was too much for me especially since it was my blood relatives and i met them for the first time. I also did not notice how intolerant and ignorant my best friend was until i had a long conversation about religion with him. It was like talking to a brick wall. Neither one of us whould budge but my sixth sense feels that there is something inherintly evil and wrong about most of christianity, and the vatican is definantly keeping secrets or misinforming people. if catholicism the beginning of christianity is wrong then so is protestantism people see catholicism as a seperate tree but, catholicism protestantism, JW, and Mormon all come from the same christian tree. like it or not its the truth as i see it. and that is the spirit of God within telling me this.

jesus didn't begin any form of christianity, that was paul, who based it on jesus' life and teachings.
that point is a matter of history.

aleks tells the truth. Jesus never wanted a religion in his name. he wanted people to rely on thier heart, which Paul spoke out agianst rabidly.

i don't know why people do it. i only answer questions about catholicism because i was catholic for many years. i know the doctrine pretty well.
everyone thinks they practice the "right" christianity......it doesn't matter though.

also, prayer and worship are not the same thing when considering mary, the saints, and god. catholics only worship god (who is also jesus and the holy spirit, btw)

I feel this way it does look like catholics worship Mary and the pope no matter if you see it or not that's what it looks when you pray to Mary that is worshiping from what i was taught the only person we should be praying to is god himself....... so if Catholics dont worship Mary ( and they may not) why pray to her???????

We see praying to Mary as idolizing her. Why pray to people when you have The Lord God Almighty to pray to?

We speak because it is the truth. As I read the Bible, I don't see anything about praying to Mary or the Pope or anything else.

The important point is we do not need any individual or idol to come between us and the Father except our High Priest Christ (Hebrews 3:1).
