why do i always end up masturbating when my spiritual me never really wants to? How do i get myself to stop??

i really need Christian counselling here everyone! Im so frustrated it feels like i can't even have control over my own body it's just awful. Can anybody suggest a possible solution or something like that? I need to pray i can't get myself outta the prison into which im captivated... plz help

Just keep it in your mind that God is watching you ...even while in the act....he sees "everything".......So when you get the urge think about that and ask God to give you something else to do ...(you have already thought the thought)...ASK and you shall receive.....Mathew 7:7..........

In anutshell, because you are lying to yourself.

The simple fact is that you are a human trying to be something that you are not. Prayer is nothing more than just another form of meditation. Just as you cannot pray away homosexuality so too can you not pray away the urges that your body has. Sure, you can ignore them but all that does is create internal strife and stress.

Just realize that you are being lied to by anyone who says that masturbation is a sin, that living life is a sin. They are trying to control you.

God loves us all and you need no middleman to speak with him. God lives within all of us and you can communicate with him whenever you want. You don't need to go to a church to confess your sins for god has never once created a building. Did god create the Ark or did Noah? These are the constructions of man. Gods church is the forest, his choir the animals and the running brook, and you are his pastor.

Masturbation is a wonderful, amazing thing. It is a part of life. No where has god ever once said that masturbation is a horrid thing. These are all the rules of man, oe men who sought not the help but to control through their laws and their perceptions of what they thought god wanted.

Know that god has never, ever given a single thing to humanity. Read the bible again with unclouded eyes and you will see that it is always a single person acting as the voice of god or some other intermediary. God has never once revealed himself to all. That is because god does not exist outside of each person.

Learn to be free of the controls of your particular church and live a life the is good and right towards yourself and others and you will find peace.

Also, anyone who tells you to just "read the bible for the next 30 days" is compeltley lying to you. They have no clue what they are talking about and would only seek to further instill within you the controls of their organized religion. Only once you break free of the yoke of organized religion will you be truly free.

What most amazing to me is that these are the very words the Christ spoke to the Jews of old in attempting to get them to break free of the controls that the Jewish leaders had on their people and the Christian church has wholly perverted the teachings of this wonderful man with their own controls.

And lastly, Dobson is a psychopath who needs an enjoyable afternoon of electroshock therapy. Run from anyone who supports his ideals.

Try to keep yourself away from temptation. I found that the pics on myspace were causing a lot of temptation fo me, so I removed my account.

Find a christian freind that you can talk to, ask him to hold you accountable. Perhaps the embaressment of him asking would reduce the chance of you doing it.

Find a hobby that you have to concentrate on. I try to play guitar whenever I am tempted. This takes my mind off of it for a little while.

Understand that God forgives. If you are trying your best to obay God, and you mess up, he will forgive you.

Ask God to remove temptation.

there are three main steps:
1) never maximize this sin and say it is very hard to me to stop it or i cant control it.. u control ur body.. don't be like others and be a slave for the sin..u should do what u want to do not what the sin wants u to do.
2) never give up.. after u take the decision and u controlled ur self for a while,and then u fall down again.. get up quickly and don't feel despaired..as now u know what made u lose control and next time avoid it.
3) stick to Jesus.. ask him from the depth of ur heart to release u from this sin..keep praying and asking him to free u from its hands.

Sorry to hear about your struggles.
In order to get away from a bad habbit,you have to replace it with a good habbit.For example,when the urge comes,you think of opening the bible and start reading it.If you can go on like that for 30 days,then bible reading will have become your habbit and you wont even get the urge.

Also the bible tells us to "carry each others burdens" The burdens meant here in this verse are actually "weakness" such as yours.What else you can do is that you need to get someone close to you and make that person your "Accountability partner".You tell that person your weaknesses and ask him/her to pray for you and to keep you checked,as in to keep asking and encouraging you on the progress.If need be,when the urge comes,you call that accountability partner there and then.

You are doing nothing wrong. Heck this is is the only way of pleasuring yourself without taking anything from anyone and making a dent on enviornment. I say do it 3-4-5 timesa day if you wish...God would understand. He has many actual sins to keep track of!

ok..this is a tough one but i think i can help...i have been there myself...first off, what is it that u think of when u do masturbate?are they thoughts that make u feel guilty afterwords?or are they normal sexual thoughts of ur mate?see this question is really tricky because it depends on soooo many factors...there is nothing wrong with masterbation in my opinion ,its just how u do it,when u do it, why u do it, and what u think about ...i would have to know more to really help u on this issue..but with out further knowledge i would say that its like over eating...u have to STOP when u hear that lil voice say "ok uve had enough"...once u get a grip on it (no pun intended) and dont let it control u and it no longer is an issue because u dont think about it..u will prolly be able to masturbate with out having increasing guilt overwhelm u...just ask for peace of mind and contentment and fulfillment in ur everyday life ...u r obviously masturbating to compensate for something lacking in ur life..and it doesnt necessarily have to be a mate...our minds are very tricky ..like an intense puzzle .i hope u find peace.

I agree with neerdowellian. It's a natural biological function for males. To supress it isn't healthy and can make you uncomfortable. It's not a sin and it must be done or you will eject in your sleep and then blame a demon...to supress it would cause frustration and maybe a hatred toward women. Better to masterbate than molest children or rape someone which is definitely a sin. Masturbating will help relieve temptation to have sex.
