I have a dachshund that by husband got me for valentine's day 4 years ago and we named her baby, because when we got her she was only 6 weeks old and you could hold her in the palm of your hand. And it still fits her today because she is such a sweet dog.

I named my doxie Cody. I wanted a boy and always wanted to name him that. I've had three girls so that was out of the question, so I named my dog that. If you've had a name pick out for a kid its cute to use something close to that name or the name. Or if you have kids let them have a chance at naming them, you never know they might surprise you.
