Get your prefects to come up with the calendar of events for the year, and alternate the organising of these activities between the different people.
As a first activity, you could organise a day-camp (if an overnight one is inconvenient) where activities such as "blind-following-the-blind" (everyone except the leader if blindfolded), spider-web (a spider web is created with several long strings between 2 trees and the goal is to get all the members on one side across to the other without touching the "web"), untangle (where everyone's in a circle and they reach out to grab the hands 2 other people. The goal of which is to untangle yourselves to form a circle or a link of a few circles)... Leaders will emerge through the different games and leadership skills will be honed.
A website with some activities: http://www.wilderdom.com/games/IdeasSummerCampActivities.html
but if you have a proper theme, you will be able to google for more.

Are u already a head girl or are u aspiring to be one. If ur aspiring to be one, i suggest academic excellence. I think u have to be recommended by teachers and students alike so u wana get such people to know u. You'll probably have the best bet at doing this if ur allowed a campaign or some rabble rousing.
If ur already a head girl and ur looking to be a good leader, that's a diff story. To succeed, u have to know what is expected of u and what people will be interested in; only then will u be a good leader. Pretty much, just try to be fair at all times, be helpful and always make urself available, u shd also try a smile most times.
In the middle of all this, however, u shd not forget that the reason ur in skl is to learn. So make ample time for ur studies. Leading shdn't be the watchward as such cos even if u want to be a leader in future, u still have to study hard.
There's the saying that a good leader has to have been a good follower so u wana make sure the leaders of the school (like the teachers) above u see this in u.
I think it wld also take a lot of planning. You have to be a model student so u wana be organised at all times cos dependeing on ur skl, ur hands are gonna be full.
All in all, just b urself at all times and try not forget to live ur own life somewhere in between.
You might also wanna try some insightful literature like Sean Covey's "7 habits of highly effective teens" or sth frm John Maxell.
Ok dear, that's as far as i know so gd luck.

I don't know what a headgirl is, but I would look for extra activities at school. Sports is great for leadership.
