why has my cat ,started craping indoors right in front of the catflap?

She's either mad at you, or something scared her outside maybe. My cats started pooping in the window box, of all places, and seemied to especially enjoy it when there was an audience. I read somewhere that tinfoil would deter them, or spraying lion pee(??) but in the end, I just ended up boarding up the flower box altogether.

I think it would be a real good sign it doesn't like going through the door. I use a cat door/flap for my 3 cats, so they can go into the garage, where the litter box is. But, in addition to that, their food and water is there also. So, I have not personally had a problem such as this, but it could be that it is because the food is also through that flap. If you have food in a different place, try putting it in the same room with the litter box and see if that makes any difference.

you know my cat doe this too and it really bugs me too, i just make sure the litter box is cleaned really well and that it has enough litter and sometimes it may have fresh litter but the box itself needs to be washed and cleaned so i would just check that, make sure its clean and maybe put a mat underneath the box like a rug to prevent it from doing that. my cat knows not to poop on carpet and if it sees the rug, it will know that area is off limits.

Your cat may be ill. Their toilet habits rarely change, so this is could be a sign all's not well. Take him to the vet, and have him checked out.

When my mom's cat started doing it, it was because he was too fat to get around the litter box.
