By definition, the word saint means:
"one separated from the world and consecrated to God"
in that case, any missionary who devotes his/her life to God would be a saint. The catholic church usually considers people who have done maricle to be saints. I think several denominations think of saints as some holy person that you pray to, asking for blessing.

Leave it to God to judge whether or not somone is a saint. Pray to God.

NO, That is not the purpose of leading people to Christ. We are to bring glory to God, and evey one who accepts Christ is considered saints in the eyes of God.
This is Jesus speaking...
Psalms 50:5 Gather my saints together unto me; those that have made a covenant with me by sacrifice.

He is referreing to those who have accepted Him as their Savior.

I don't believe there is a head-count to sainthood. He/She would most likely be a candidate for sainthood if he/she demonstrated changes in the lives and circumstances of those overall who he/she touched AND in an outstanding way- through his/her love and service.
