The photocopier is owned by a Scout group so we don't want to pay a hefty fee for disposal.

You should just be able to take it to your local waste recycle centre, shouldn't be charged for photocopier, they only charge for fridges or freezers.

Freecycle! Someone will make good use of it. www.freecycle.org - there are networks everywhere.
