my cat had 2 litters-she was pregnant about 13 weeks-if she is bulging, she could be ready. they don't show early, so she could of been pregnant longer then you think. make sure she has a safe private place to have the kittens. close to your bed is good to start. i used a carboard box and put towels on the bottom. she will want you around when she is ready. she will actually hold off till you are there(if she can). my cat came to get me both times. she tried to have them on my bed so i put her in the box and stayed with her. talking to her helps calm her down. she will have the kittens 15 to 30 minutes apart. she will eat the placenta each time. it is full of protein for her. when the kittens are all born(my cat had 6 and then 7 and it took her 8 hrs.) i put clean towels in the box. i changed these towels every few days depending on need. the first week she wipes away their urine, but soon they start urinating in the box and the mother will try to find a clean place. now don't let people keep disturbing her or don't try to pick up the kittens too much or the mother will carry them off to a safe place or abandom them. don't let the mother outside, she might not come back. once my cat got outside so i took two of the kittens and brought them outside. they start meowing so loud that my cat came running back to care for them. once i lost her in the house for 2 days. i was so worried for the kittens and called the vet. he said that is normal when she needs a rest. she came back(from where i don't know) and fed the hungry kittens. she will take a weak kitten out of the box and place in a hallway. if that happens, she will not take the kitten back. but i fed my runt with bottles of milk from the pet store and they were fine. if they can't drink from the nipple, put some on your palm and they will suck from your hand. the first 24 hours of feeding are crucial for survival. make sure your cat is flea free. it is not safe to use chemicals, but, a flea comb works. the fleas will kill the kittens if they get bad. i saw it happen to a friends kittens. so sad. but don't worry, this is rare. if you want to bond with the kittens, pick them up every day and rub their cheeks on yours. this is a wonderful experience for you to witness the mothers strong nuturing instincts. when the mother would leave the kittens to eat i would pick up the kittens. they would meow and the mother would run in a take them by the scruff of their neck right from me. and give me a dirty look. if your runt has trouble delivering, consult your vet. they will pant moving their stomach up and down fast just before they birth. then they get right to cleaning them and eating the placenta before the next kitten, resting in between. i had a runt in the first litter and would help her find the nipple from the other greedy kittens. i started supplementing the mothers milk with powdered food(bought at pet store)mixed with special cat milk or water. they loved it and it helped the mother after they started walking around. the mother ate it too. give her lots of attention too after the kittens are born. she really needs to know she is the most important from you. she can get pregnant again in six weeks. my cat did. the first (and 4th, heaven forbid) are the hardest for mother and kittens. don't be surprised, if there are more then 4 ,that one won't make it. well i hope i didn't give you more info then you wanted or needed. there are great web sites for helping you understand this process. good luck to both of you and have a wonderful experience. julie p.s. if after 6 weeks your cat starts hissing at the kittens, she is just naturally trying to wean them and kick them out of their nests. don't worry, the kittens will get the hint. they are soooo greedy for her milk. also keep any male cat away from the kittens, they will kill them because they don't want competition for the female. MALES!

Cats are usually pregnant between 58 and 65 days. It usually takes four to
six hours for cats to deliver a litter of kittens but this varies widely
from cat to cat. If there is an interval of longer than 4 hours between
kittens and the cat still seems to be trying to deliver kittens or is not
comfortable, she should be checked by a veterinarian.

The gestation on a cat is normally around 63 or 65 days depending on the variety of cat. Some cats get their milk in when the kittens are born, others can come in milk up to 2 weeks before the kittens are born. Usually by the time you can see a kitten bulge on her side or feel them move under your hand when you lay it on her belly, she is down to the last two weeks of her pregnancy.

60-67 days. When she is about to have the kittens she will find a hiding place that is quiet and hidden. So keep an eye on her she will be hiding pretty soon.
