Should I make my grandpa go to the doctor with a blood pressure of 217 over 95?

He really hates going and is trying to tell me that nothing is wrong. Should I just force him to go?

Explain the situation to the doc and ask him what meds you grandpa can use now to lower his blood pressure. Recheck his blood pressure in a few hours and if it continues to be this high continue to urge or force him to seek medical attention.

If at any time he developed symptoms like chest pain, shortness of breath, confusion, stroke like symptoms, headache, or nose bleed, I would just dial 911 at that point.

That's way over high, the normal blood pressure is 120/80, is almost double the normal reading, you shouldn't wait for him to accept to go to the doctor, call 911, you won't regret it.

the new american heart association suggests that the average Blodd pressure is about 120/80 so if your grand pa doesn't want to go to the doctor make the odc come to your grand pa we may never know if it is already serious or not, not until further tests are done
