how the kids got influenced their behaviours and physiological mental well being when father is away from the family for overseas assignment for long periods may be 10-15 years but often visits them may be once in a year spending one or two months with them away from kids -changes in their behavioural patterns

Kids change their behavior when they're not around Mama very frequently. When they go to daycare or school, they are probably very different than when they are with you. Mama's tend to let kids get away with alot more than they should and are easily manipulated. Dad may not be that easy of a target, and they feel safe when he is around. To keep them interested in Dad, have them write a journal, or write Dad a letter daily/weekly and he could send pics of himself to them.

The bonding is not there. They really do not know their father/mother....they know he/she is their dad/mother...but they really don't know him/her as a nurturing parent. Children distant themselves for their own protection for example : fear of abandoment. It is self defense. The children are not to blame.
