Take him back to the ER, let them know that now you are not so sure it had it shots. They will know what to do from there. This is your baby and can not be replaced, don't let anybody stand in your way of being sure he is well taken care of. Good Luck!

Call your local animal control and they'll come pick up the dog. They'll keep him in quarrantine for 10 days to make sure he's not rabid or otherwise sick. If he's healthy, they'll probably release him back to his owner.
If I were you, I'd suggest you ahve the dog destroyed. No dog that snaps (whether a bone is thrown at him or not) and bites a child should live. Then again, I'm kind of biased...I don't generally like dogs to begin with. Seriously though, the dog BIT a child. Which is more important...your child's life or the dog's? What happens if he bites her again, only this time it's on the face or her neck?

Well, of course they worry about rabbies. I don't know that I would "assume" anything. Assuming can be a dangerous way to handle situations sometimes. Try to find out about the shots. If not, the child will need rabbies treatment or the dog may need to be held until they can make sure he's ok. The thing you need to remember, the rabbies treatment isn't as bad as it used to be. A long time ago, it was horrible being treated but things are different now.

Always assume all dogs had no shots! And the Dr should be able to treat your son as the dog had no shots. Your son should be fine, because when you get bit by dogs that had no shots withn couple hours your hands would be verrrry swollen.

Take your son back to the doctor and tell him that you suspect the dog in question might not have had its shots. Your son might need to be vaccinated for rabies, which involves several shots.

Nothing, because your going to follow the prescribed treatment of antibiotics and keeping the area clean. Kids are really resilient and he will be just fine in a few days. Best wishes

You need to get that dog tested for rabies. If he doesn't have rabies then you need to get your son to the ER and tell them about it. If he dosn't then just keep doing what you are doing to clean the bite.
