YES!

When you are born there is no idea in your mind about a god or some sort of creator. It is only put their by your parents or society.

Therefore, friends, we are all brothers and sisters in atheism. I just believe that the theists just had a bad experience with atheism and are rejecting it. They need to open their mind and look at the beauty of the world and realize that no religion provides all the answers.

I ask you this? What if you are wrong believing in a god? Then you have wasted your whole life on this beautiful earth believing in and devoting your whole life to something that doesn't exist. If I am wrong about being an atheist, at least I got to enjoy paradise while here on earth!

There, how do you respond when the tables are turned and the shoe is on the other foot?

Of course everyone is born an atheist. Adults believe in a great variety of religions, but you'll never see a 3 year old who believes in something different than their parents. They just believe whatever mumbo-jumbo is shoved down their young throats at home.....

Let's see what is wrong with your "speech". "What if you're wrong believing in God?"... But, if there's no God and if there's no life after death, who is going to tell you or us, the believers, that we were wrong?! Neither you, nor we will know. On the other hand, if there is God, wouldn't you be the only one to be disappointed?
You say "...you have wasted your whole life on this beautiful earth believing in and devoting your whole life in something that doesn't exist". Well, once again, we will not know and neither will you. What do you believe in? Money? You'll get nothing when you die. Fame? You won't know about that after you die. Living every day as if it is the last day of your life? Who said the Christians don't do that?! I believe they do the same thing. Beautiful earth? Yeah, they do believe that this is a beautiful earth and that life is beautiful, children are their pride and helping the others is their mission on this planet. So, what was your question?

Hello sanstheism,

1. You are correct that the notion of God is put in our head by society and by our parents. But who was the first person to ever believe in God? Who put it in this person's head? So in other words you forget that we can think of God ourselves.
2. We are not born atheists because babies dont know or cannot deny or accept anything. So in other words they may not believe in God but they dont deny God either.
3. Theists usually have a better outlook on the world because we believe Creation is an art piece of God. Besides it is better to believe in a divine plan than to believe in chance.
4. If theists are wrong that God exists then we will be wrong. But God brings in morality and goodness, so I would not be angry if such a thing happens. I don't think putting God (morality, goodness) first is a bad thing or a waste.
5. You are partially right about one thing at least. Atheists enjoy this world much more than theists. But that is not particularly a good thing.

Always happy to answer ur questions.

You make an assumption about what a baby believes. How can you know? They are now teaching babies sign language before they even have the ability to talk. Have you ever watched a new born baby? Sometimes they stare off into one direction and a smile will form on their faces. How can you be sure they are not talking with God? Science can not tell you that they aren't. you don't need to use your vocal chords to speak with God. People always assume that because they can not communicate with a baby or an animal or an insect, that it means these beings can not communicate at all.

actually, NO..atheists have heard of a higher being but choose not to believe, a baby does not know anything at all, the don't have the choice to believe or not. So, we werent born atheists.

Yeah if He doesnt exist we devoted our lives to a non existant being but don't lose a thing, but if He does exist we earn ETERNITY in Heaven (which is better than this earth) and if He does exist and you didnt believe in Him, sure you enjoyed life on Earth for a while, but you will have to suffer an ETERNITY in Hell...so which is better? a limited time enjoying Earth or never ending torture in hell? Who said us Christians don't enjoy Earth? We can enjoy it without breaking God's commandments, I am!

We just cant go around saying that when we are born that we have no knowledge of god or any creator.a atheist is a person that does not believe in God at all.Yes we try and teach our children that thier is a God.doesnt mean that they have to follow in our footsteps.we can only hope they will choose the right path in life.no everone isnt born a atheist. That is choosen by the person that no doubt hasnt been brought up in christian lifestyle..
we however are all born sinners.

NO! Everyone is born ignorant. But right down to it, no one knows anything about 'nothin when they are born! Our beliefs are passed along to us by our parents. If you were born into a catholic family, then you would be dragged to catholic services and go through all that communion stuff.

Come now - religion is, and was, a way to explain the unexplainable. OH MY SUN GOD! The crops have failed again! The Sun god is punishing us!

No atheism is a hard earned conviction in wake of religious bigotry. We are just born blank and innocent ready to absorb whatever world has to offer... unfortunately kids are always surrounded by adults who have framed their convictions and usually force these upon the innocent minds.

I am an atheist but I dont think that you are born one. You are born not knowing not, not believing. I dont think believing in God is so wrong, if it is what makes you happy and going on with your life then good for you.
